Answer:
The pedestal can be very handy and elevates the machine so that you aren't bending as much to load it. However, if you have height limitations or plan to install the machine under shelves or stack it, then the pedestal can be eliminated.

No. The washer will work just fine without a pedestal but it's a lot of bending and stooping without them. If you know a handy man or woman, ask them to build your own. I used 3/4 inch plywood and 2x6 wood and built it tall enough to slide a laundry basket under. Home Depot cuts the plywood to your dimensions. I built mine in an hour in my garage while I was waiting for the delivery truck to arrive. I found a helpful video on Youtube that showed the process of building your own. To answer your question........no, you don't need the pedestals but it will save your back a lot of bending if you raise the machine about 15 inches or so. Some people recommend putting a rubber mat under the machine on the floor to dampen the vibration of the machine. Those pedestals are overpriced in my opinion and they are not even big enough to store a bottle of detergent. My homemade pedestal doesn't have a drawer but it's tall enough to slide a laundry basket under so it's VERY handy and super sturdy and cost about $42 in materials to build. I bought the wood at Home Depot and had them cut the plywood and the 2x6's for me so all I had to do at home was nail it together and paint it. I have posted a photograph of the pedestal I built. Note the height of the washer compared to the standard height dryer (not on a pedestal) next to it. Think about how often we would need to bend over to retrieve clothes. Note also that the pedestal I built is tall enough for a laundry basket to slide underneath so it makes efficient use of the space. The pedestals that are sold as an option with the machines are made from sheet metal and they are not tall enough to store even a standard size bottle of soap so they are not really useful to me. Plus, you can save $200 if you build your own and have Home Depot cut the wood for you. Read Less

Answer:
If your washer will not start please ensure that the power plug fits tightly in wall outlet. You may also reset circuit breaker or replace fuse capacity. Ensure that water supply faucets are turned on. Please also verify that the door on washer is tightly closed. It is recommend that if you see the assistance of a Service Specialist to assist in the proper diagnosis of your unit.
Thank you,

Hello Kim,
Thank you for your inquiry! An exact verification of the length of a cycle cannot be made as these cycle times vary due to many factors such as the size of load and options or cycle selected. We hope this information is of assistance.

Owned for about a year, no problems as of yet. The detergent tray always has water in it after the cycle is done. Need to wipe dry the door seal. or it will get stale smelling. Price was right, but not expecting longevity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from after buying 2 used units I needed a break We bought this washer & matching dryer for a rental unit. Renters can be very hard on appliances, We bought a used top loader(stacked set) that lasted 3 months, then bought a used front loader set that lasted less then 45 days! We needed something with a warranty. So far this set is good. We live above the rental unit and it's not as loud as either previous set, the renter says she loves it, the clothes are almost dry when they come out of the wash, the spin is very quiet. I am hoping for water savings as we pay the utilities and the water bill was getting out of control!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Consumer Reports Best Buy I purchased this machine because CR rated it as a "best buy" meaning that all things considered, (cost, features, reliability, durability) it's a good pick. It's not as feature rich as other machines but most people don't use those sophisticated wash cycles found on costly machines. I built my own pedestal that is tall enough for a laundry basket to slide under out of 3/4 inch plywood and 2x6 wood. I found a do it yourself video on U-tube so I built it myself. Installation was easy but the technician left without showing me how to open the door. There is no door handle visible, as you face the machine it is on the inside right lip of the door. I also purchased the braided stainless steel hoses for better performance. Keep the door open between loads to prevent mildew in the drum. I will repost after I've had the machine for six months,, then again at 1 year. I recommend you purchase the warranty, this is good planning for ANY machine these days as one repair pays for the cost of the plan. Home Depot has an excellent warranty program and their service so far has been good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Washer/dryer The products work wonderfully. However, the washer opens to the left and dryer to the right which is a major problem given they stack and there are no extra inches. I was not told that the new dryer vent has a larger diameter than the old one so the machines stick out an inch. So, another problem!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I bought this machine after doing a lot of research. I was especially excited about being able to wash blankets and the high-efficiency. I have had this washer for 4 years and I'm so grateful bought the extended warranty. I had to have it serviced 3 times. The water now leaks out of the door because the rubber has cracked and is moldy. I cleaned the washer regularly and followed the manual. My warranty just ran out and it is going to be $350. to fix because the parts are so expensive. I'm going back to a top loader.
