Answer:
The pedestal can be very handy and elevates the machine so that you aren't bending as much to load it. However, if you have height limitations or plan to install the machine under shelves or stack it, then the pedestal can be eliminated.

No. The washer will work just fine without a pedestal but it's a lot of bending and stooping without them. If you know a handy man or woman, ask them to build your own. I used 3/4 inch plywood and 2x6 wood and built it tall enough to slide a laundry basket under. Home Depot cuts the plywood to your dimensions. I built mine in an hour in my garage while I was waiting for the delivery truck to arrive. I found a helpful video on Youtube that showed the process of building your own. To answer your question........no, you don't need the pedestals but it will save your back a lot of bending if you raise the machine about 15 inches or so. Some people recommend putting a rubber mat under the machine on the floor to dampen the vibration of the machine. Those pedestals are overpriced in my opinion and they are not even big enough to store a bottle of detergent. My homemade pedestal doesn't have a drawer but it's tall enough to slide a laundry basket under so it's VERY handy and super sturdy and cost about $42 in materials to build. I bought the wood at Home Depot and had them cut the plywood and the 2x6's for me so all I had to do at home was nail it together and paint it. I have posted a photograph of the pedestal I built. Note the height of the washer compared to the standard height dryer (not on a pedestal) next to it. Think about how often we would need to bend over to retrieve clothes. Note also that the pedestal I built is tall enough for a laundry basket to slide underneath so it makes efficient use of the space. The pedestals that are sold as an option with the machines are made from sheet metal and they are not tall enough to store even a standard size bottle of soap so they are not really useful to me. Plus, you can save $200 if you build your own and have Home Depot cut the wood for you. Read Less

Answer:
If your washer will not start please ensure that the power plug fits tightly in wall outlet. You may also reset circuit breaker or replace fuse capacity. Ensure that water supply faucets are turned on. Please also verify that the door on washer is tightly closed. It is recommend that if you see the assistance of a Service Specialist to assist in the proper diagnosis of your unit.
Thank you,

Hello Kim,
Thank you for your inquiry! An exact verification of the length of a cycle cannot be made as these cycle times vary due to many factors such as the size of load and options or cycle selected. We hope this information is of assistance.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 147 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Design flaws We really wanted to like this washer, but it has 2 big problems. 1. It has a design flaw that means any small articles of clothing (like kids's socks) get caught in the front of the washer and don't get washer or spun dry - they just come out wet and dirty. 2. The hot wash isn't hot.  It just keeps trying to pull in more hot water and obviously doesn't have any kind of thermostat. It's pretty frustrating when you want to do a hot wash to sanitize things. I wouldn't buy this washer again, and wouldn't recommend it. July 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product is easy to use and performs well. I am extremely pleased with the performance of my new Affinity HE front load washer. I have never used a front load machine before but the Affinity's controls and cycles were so intuitive and easy to use that I became an instant fan. It's compact size and design fitted perfectly in my small wash closet and the stylish design looks great. The Affinity Front Load Washer is quiet and efficient...a great value at an affordable price. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Breaks all the time... We have had this washer almost 2 years now and have had to have it repaired three times already. All the cycles quit working except the spin cycle. July 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WORST Washer EVER We bought our Frigidaire Affinity washer about 18 months ago and have had nothing but constant problems. It continually seems to eat socks that in turn plug up the drain causing us to have to have servicemen come get it unclogged. The servicemen tell us this is a problem with the Frigidaire brand in particular. We have had the servicemen hear at least five times in 18 months. We paid a lot of money for a new washer and ended up purchasing a lemon instead. Save your money and frustration and buy something else. June 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't buy! Customer service disaster. DO NOT BUY! Worked as designed for 6 months, then required 3 repairs in the last 2 months. Each took hours on the phone and days off of work to coordinate repair service, and weeks after diagnosis waiting for parts. Customer service is a total disaster. Things break, but based on their response I will never buy from Frigidaire again for the rest of my life. Do yourself a favor and Google Frigidaire complaints, and then buy another brand. They constantly update the model number on this washer each year, but it is essentially the same thing every one of them has tons of negative reviews. February 7, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Washer I have owned mine since Feb. 2013. I really like the 4 load settings it has plus the spin and rinse cycle. I have had a couple of issues with it. 1) not spinning out all the water. 2) not unlocking the door. I found that with 1) it was due to setting of spin cycle plus putting too many bulky items (covers) and with 2) I found it was due to over loading it with too many clothes (shirts, several pairs blue jeans) by my daughter & why I had to look for the site to get the manual for it. I did resolve my door issue before getting the manual by doing the rinse & spin cycle. November 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by after buying 2 used units I needed a break We bought this washer & matching dryer for a rental unit. Renters can be very hard on appliances, We bought a used top loader(stacked set) that lasted 3 months, then bought a used front loader set that lasted less then 45 days! We needed something with a warranty. So far this set is good. We live above the rental unit and it's not as loud as either previous set, the renter says she loves it, the clothes are almost dry when they come out of the wash, the spin is very quiet. I am hoping for water savings as we pay the utilities and the water bill was getting out of control! August 24, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by chronic drain problems We have bought this washer twice in 7 years, because it has the largest capacity for the cabinet our laundry machines are in. It has a significant design flaw in the drain system. Google "error code E20 Frigidaire washer" and you'll see from the number of entries how common this is. With this second washer, we've now taken the cabinet apart and moved the washer out in order to get completely inside and under the machine to take the drain filter completely apart and clean the lint out about 3 times in the last 12-18 months. It has now stopped working again, and I will be going to a smaller capacity washer rather than buying this lemon again. There are only 3 of us and I don't think we're hard on washers nor do we have especially linty wash. Haven't ever had this trouble with any other model we've used. June 28, 2014
