Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Familyofsix Very Happy Wth This Washer
This is our first HE washer. I am very satisfied with this washer. I love the see through top and the many options for washing. It is amazing for my family because I have so many different types of loads to wash (family of 6!). It cleans the clothes and has not ruined one thing. The kids are amazed that they get to see what happens inside the washing machine now. It is a quiet machine when washing, and the finishing chime is not like a loud buzzer. I do not think the cycles are too long. They are anywhere between 30 minutes to 56, depending on the wash cycle. I have not seen a jump in the electric bill and I have done a LOT of laundry this month, so I am pleased about that so far. I would recommend this washer to others because I am extremely satisfied with it. I gave it an excellent review on everything because it has performed excellent.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Maggie Overall, I really like my new machine.
Overall, I really like my new machine. Very simple to use and has great features available. The only complaint I would have is that on small, delicate loads it doesn't seem to spin all the water out.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by KauaiVal Shipping Tool/Screw on Center Bottom must be removed!
Purchased on Oct. 29, 2013, I started with problems from the start. The machine was making loud noises and was moving around with the higher spin cycles. After some researching online I suspected that the problems were happening because the shipping tool/screw were not removed upon delivery/installation. I contacted HD and the guys came out right away and were able to remove it and VOILA, the machine is working Very Well. Although it has many features and cycles that I'm not that familiar with I'm loving the machine and Best of All, it is Very Quiet and it is Staying Put even at the Highest Spin Cycle. If ANYONE is having problems with noises and the machine shifting around, please verify that the Shipping Tool in the Bottom Center has been removed. I'm so glad I did not give up and return the machine. Very Satisfied with this HE Top Load Washer.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Riverdolphin A Good Dependable Unit
I purchased my washer in December 2012, so I wanted to wait and try it out before I wrote a review. After eight months, here is what I have come up with.
1.) High Efficiency does not mean High Performance. This new technology uses less water, increased soak periods and phosphorous free detergents to get your clothes clean. This top loader model uses an agitator which looks much like a nipple with fins at the base of the tub to grab clothes and direct the movement. 1 1/4 turn right, 1 1/4 turn left. Essentially the clothes rubbing together to get your load clean.
2.) Pre-Treatment Is Premium- Your old washing machine may have gotten out mild stains without any prep work on your part, but don't expect that performance with this unit. If you can't get a stain out by rubbing it out with a damp cloth, changes are that this machine will not get it out either. Pre-treatment with detergent or Spray and Wash will increase your chances for stain removal. This is key from heavy staining to mild staining from grass, topsoil and household dirt.
3.) Increased Wash TIme- While your old washer could bang out a load in 20 minutes, the average wash time for this unit is 53 minutes. If you are trying to save the planet and use the energy saving mode, bring a novel and a crossword puzzle to work on, because the average time on this mode is 76 minutes. Also, this does not use hot water; but instead, uses cool water, not warm. I don't understand how cool water can breakdown dirt, and I never use the energy saving mode. Also, the time display is approximate time and not a clock. It is not uncommon for the unit to be on spin for 12 minutes and the counter has been saying 1 min to go and that was 9 minutes ago.
4.) Turbo High Speed Spin- This is truly amazing and explains why the wash lid must be locked during the entire cycle. On the high speed spin cycle, this tub will spin at 800+ RPM. What is even more impressive is that it makes virtually little noise. Approximately 90% of the water trapped in the fibers of your clothes are being extracted through centrifugal force which decreases your drying time in your HE dryer.
5.) Ignorance is bliss if it doesn't fall on your head- The transparent top lid seemed like a good idea by the design engineer's but if you watch your clothes being washed, you will doubt that your clothes are getting clean. The tub offers little movement, and the unit is constantly adding more water to the cycle which seem counter intuitive to the claim that the unit uses less water. Set it and forget it. Walk away and let the unit do it's job. Also, the lid doesn't lock in the upright position and it will fall on your head as you load and remove clothes from the tub. Someone should have thought that at $550.00 this unit should have that failsafe.
Overall, the unit is dependable and a good value. I have noticed that my clothes do not get that "washed out look" from repeated use with a traditional agitator washer. I have not had an odor problem with this unit from bacteria growing on the drum liner, but if you do this can be easily fixed by purchasing the Affresh odor tabs which are available at just about every retailer. This unit was brand new to the market in 2012 and so perhaps many of the issues I mention on this review will be addressed in later models. I am happy with the unit, and I would recommend it to others.

We've had our Affinity for about 7 months. The first month we had to call the repair man because the lid would not stay up. Pretty common problem based on reviews we've read. Within the last month it has stopped cleaning the clothes. After every load, including my dress work clothes, there is a black scum around the bottom of the washer and on the clothes. We have tried everything including using Affresh washer cleaner, running bleach through a couple of cycles. It does not matter what we are washing there is black scum. The store where we bought it says just keep running it empty to clean it out. It is disgusting to wash your clothes for over an hour and have them come out dirty than when they went in. Regret this purchase.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Vincennes Mom LOVE THIS WASHER!
I am a Frigidaire fan to begin with. This is my first washer from them, and don't know what took me so long to buy. I love it. I am not sure why some reviews say the clothes are not clean. I never have this problem. My lid was a little loose at first but had it fixed and no major issues. I do wish it stood straight a little more. It is a bit on the noisy side when it gets going with a full load but we have a room that is shut off so that does not cause a problem. I couldn't be happier, I have had this washer for a little over 6 months and love it just as much when it was new. I have 2 small children and a husband that farms so we KNOW how to get dirty!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nyldsmommy Thought they were great!
I purchased these in May 2013, the repair man has been to my house so many times now my dogs don't even bark anymore. From day of delivery, nothing but problems. From the lid slamming down on me during loading, to the tub ring discenegrating to the tub basin not draining to now the transmission springs are shot! Mind you I only do 3 loads a week.

Although the washer has many nice features I have a recurring problem with the water level. It seldom fills enough to cover the clothes and yesterday the clothes on top did not even get entirely wet. When the cycle was done several items still had large dry areas on them. I have even tried max water level and this doesn't help. I called the company and had a service person look at it and he thought it was OK but there were no clothes in it when he checked it.
I also purchased the matching dryer and have trouble getting the clothes dry and the chime is not loud enough to know when it is done and therefore the clothes lay there and get wrinkles.
