Customer Questions & Answers

While oven is on, does it heat outside of the range?

Asked by: crafty
Not hot. Only warm. I did not test the temperature. Because it is metal constrution. So it will transfer some heat anyway.

Should my oven light stay on the entire time that I can using my oven?

I can not find my manual , so I am asking you this questions. . When I preheat the oven, the light comes on, but when I am baking or roasting , the light stays on for awhile, then it turns off. The light will come for awhile , but then goes off again. Is this normal or is there a problem within the electrical control panel?
Asked by: teach
I was able to download the manuals for my range from the Frigidaire website. You should be able to do the same for your model. Which light are you speaking about? The control panel light indicates that the oven temperature has been reached. The oven light lets you see what is behind the glass door.

Asked by: Endzonelouie
The stainless smudges and if you get the black, it shows every splatter of grease or water.

Is the smudge-proof finish on this range or not??

The very first line of the product overview on HD's webpage says, "The Frigidaire Gallery 30 in. Smudge-Proof Stainless Steel Freestanding Gas Range lets you cook more at once..." but when a consumer asked if the range had a smudge-proof finish in this ask and answer section, the Frigidaire response said it did not. Can someone please clarify?

Customer Reviews

Gallery 30 in. 5.0 cu. ft. Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 278.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from After a couple of years of use, less than thrilled Slow to heat up, and gas flares with an audible "FOOMP" whenever the thermostat in the oven ignites it. Oven light didn't last long. Ignitor doesn't work on one of the rangetop burners. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from oven whistles twice every time gas kicks on Have had this stove since 2014 and love it. However, the past 2 times I used the over, I hear a whistle (2 short, high pitched, bird like tweets) when the gas kicks in. This is after the oven reaches the correct temp. Not really sure what it is or if it's dangerous??

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love our new stove Couldn't be happier with my new stove. Heats evenly and I love having the extra burner in the center. The quick boil burners are the best thing since sliced bread. I haven't tried the convection on the oven yet but looking forward to seeing how that works. Our old stove was so inefficient, you couldn't light a burner if the oven was going. It is such a relief to not have to think about it! If I have any complaint it's that you have to move the heavy grates to clean the surface, but this is true of many a gas stove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flames are adjustable - who knew? I have been using this range for two months now. It is really handsome and looks great next to my granite (Crema Pearl) countertops. I was unhappy with the fact that, even on the lowest setting, my simmer burners were too hot, making my rice and everything else I tried to simmer on it, boil over. I finally called customer service at Frigidaire and they told me how to adjust the flame for each burner. It's easy - just turn the burner on and take the knob off. Then insert a long, narrow, regular head screwdriver into the hole and turn it until the flame reaches the height you want. I don't know why they don't just tell you that in the owner's manual. Now, if the black range top didn't show every single crumb, oil splatter and particle of dust, I'd say it was a perfect range. On the bright side, it forces me to be a better house-cleaner because I have to take the grates off and clean the entire top surface after every use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice range at a fantastic price. This range is a pleasure to use. The burners light quickly, moving pots from burner to burner is a breeze (especially important when I have my 20 pint pressure cooker on them), and the quick boil burner brings my 8 quart pot to a boil very quickly. At the same time that burner is too hot to maintain my pressure cooker at a pressure less than 12 lbs. I found the simmer burner works great once the pressure is reached. It's to bad the unit does not come with a broiler pan (had to purchase that separately). However the broiler and oven is easy to use. I do like the initial setting for the oven bake temperature at 350 degrees. Please note Home Depot does not sell the conversion from Natural Gas to LP. I purchased the conversion kit from Frigidaire Customer Service directly. The kit consisted of new orifices with easy to follow instructions. With the right sockets and wrenches the conversion is relatively simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Stove & Excellent Value After spending a lot of time researching the various models and consulting Consumer Report reviews we settled on the Frigidare Gallery gas stove. It is a good value; possessing many features normally seen on stoves costing much more. The various size burners are convenient. We weren't sure about burner grates over the entire stove top but have found it to be a nice feature for moving pots on and off burners and taking hot pans from the oven. The stove works great and heats up quickly. Delivery was quick. The installers were very polite and efficient. Overall we have been very pleased with our purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Performance We're very pleased with our range. We love to cook and we need a precise range. On the day of delivery, we bought two oven thermometers to test the inside temps at the point when pre-heating was complete. Both thermometers read 125 degrees less than the oven. We were alarmed and called HD. They sent out an expert to test our range and he brought a $500 piece of equipment to test internal temps. He tested and retested the range and actual internal temps were within 3 degrees of the stated temps. Everything with our new range works fine and we are very pleased with the performance. The convection function is very nice. The keypad calls convection "quick bake" and that is silly. Convection does much more than baking quickly and Americans can learn that easily. The large, continuous burner grate is a nice touch for us. We are getting older and our pots are heavy. It is nice to slide them around, rather than having to pick them up at an awkward angle. Thanks for the nicely designed product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value, great performance, missing a few features I'd like Great value for the styling and features (5 burners/convection/large oven). We bought it as a Black Friday sale, and it was delivered to our door from purchasing online, since our Home Depot didn't carry this brand in the store. Wish we had gone through the Discover card site to purchases it, and get 5% back! Separately, we also bought the griddle that fits in place of the middle grate, however with one round (instead of oval) burner there, it most likely can't spread the heat as evenly. Probably should have just continued using the griddle that covers 2 burners we already have. I like the variety of burner options, several more than our previous range had. The large simmer burner for big pots and the quick boil does a nice job, plus the regular sized others. The burners light so easily and smoothly. I wasn't sure about giving up the middle flat space of our old range, but I do like the middle burner, it's easier to reach than the back ones and I rest the spoons to the sides instead. The continuous grates make it easy to shift pots around too. Nice grate design, I like it more than many others I had looked at. It is easy to clean w/sealed burners and looks good with all black appliances in our kitchen. The large window is great (also new for us) and the light work well to view the oven contents. I like that I can put 3 cookie sheets in at one time and it has seemed to heat evenly, even with racks at the very top and bottom. The probe is also a great feature, even though I forget to use it. I've used the convection oven a lot and it does heat faster, so one has to adjust temp and time for that. I love that it saves energy by using convection and how quiet the fan is, we had to look at it to be sure it was working (and it stops if you open the oven door). The owner's manual indicates the convection temp will go below 300, but it doesn't. I had hoped I could use it to roast nuts at a lower temp and shorter time. I love having a bottom drawer for storage (an upgrade for us), however it doesn't open easily if hands are partially full or messy. A gliding kind of drawer slide would a great addition, as well as a handle that can be grabbed, but doesn't stick out too far. The stove was advertised as having one of the shelves in the oven slide out as the door opens, which I thought was a good idea, but this is not the case. and I can't see a way to have it do that. I had wanted to call Frigidaire to ask about that. I also wish the stove would tell you the current temperature on the digital readout, not just the target temp., so we keep our old thermometer in there and check it. As mentioned on other reviews, heat definitely comes out the back of the stovetop when the oven is on and I've mistakenly reached for a pot handle that was heated by it and too hot to touch. The sides also get hotter than our last stove, but with 5 burners the amount of porcelein on top is narrower to fit the same size stove in the space.
