Water level in tub

I have not used a HE washer before. Is the tub supposed to fill with water? The water level in mine does not cover the clothes in the washer. They are very wet and seem to come out clean but I'm not sure if something is wrong. I ran a wash cycle without any clothes, empty, and it filled to about 3/4 of the tub on the high water level setting.

Answer:
No it will never fill to the top, it is HE, the impeller (not agitator) draws the clothes in toward each other and down there are many videos on how HE washers work. They use about 60% less water...same as front loaders

Answer:
The water level is based on the amount of clothing articles you place in the tub. It has some kind of sensor that determines the water level. My clothes always come out clean.

Answer:
Hello Glojul! The washer is not going to fill up with water due to being a high efficiency model. There is a sensor located within the washer to fill it up based off the amount of clothing inside of it. Hopefully this information is helpful to you. Do not hesitate to contact us directly or via the Q&A forum on this website. –Thanks!-

This is covered in the units operator's manual. Briefly you push in the washer control and wait until you hear the beep and then the lock will release.

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 194 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase! Affordable, energy efficient, water efficient and small and compact enough for a tiny house. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love this washer/dryer. The interior capacity is much bigger than the other brands offering similar overall dimensions. Yes, it does take a bit longer than usual for each load, but I'd only complain about that if it didn't do such a great job of washing. I do agree with the complaint that a timer would be nice, but that's minor given all the other pluses. I'd recommend this product. October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Unit, Great Cleaning Due to a very limited sized laundry closet I had to go with a second Unicenter unit. My old whirlpool was from circa 1990 with a 1.5 cf wash tub, kind of useless. This was a huge upgrade! I live in CA so water savings is a big thing, thus why I went with the HE over the agitator. Unit cleans well, towels and queen comforter come out clean, dryer is super quiet and dries fast....this may be due to to insanely fast spin cycle of the washer...seriously, stuff comes out of the washer almost dry!!! Yes cycles are longer because its HE, but only by about 15 minutes, there is HE unit that has a quick wash but this one does not. My only CONS are it would be nice to know when the unit is going into rinse so to add softer, no biggie, bought a downy ball. This is definitely a "city" washer/dryer, HE units are not recommended for deep tough heavily soiled items....like construction, drilling, etc...an agitator may work best October 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by faulty this machine would not spin. The washing cycle was way too long and you could not track it's progress. Decided to get another brand rather than chance another lemon. I also own an older model Frigidaire laundry center that in much better and has lasted 9 years so far with minor repairs. October 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Space saving washer leaves my staff astonished!!! We use this in our daycare facility, it runs 4 times a day to keep up with our needs. The Barrel is big enough for one meals' worth of washing of bibs, wash cloths, and towels. We have 10 infant beds and 5 wobbler beds that are washed at least once per day so we can do all 15 at one time! The only downfall is the length of time it takes to do one load of cloths. The old washer was completed in about 40 minutes. This new one takes around 65 minutes to complete. We had to rethink our timelines and complete other duties while awaiting the load to complete a wash. But it was manageable...... Overall would recommend it for anyone looking for a space saver! October 21, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Well, It's New....But.... This "laundry center" has a great capacity and is pretty quiet. The cycles are very long and it takes roughly 2 hours to complete one load of laundry. There is no buzzer, etc when either the washer or dryer is finished. There is no way to tell where the washer is in it's cycles, it just has to finally stop. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Buy for Price This is our 5th top and button, however first electric dryer. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Takes the guesswork out of doing laundry When searching to buy a new washer dryer combo I wasn't sure what to expect out of an HE machine. But after I got it and used it for the first time all I can say is wow! It is so much better than my old machine. First of all I could actually do a load of laundry instead of doing six loads with my old machine. I don't have to worry about setting rather arrivals because this washer are so smart it sets the water level for me. And the dryer, draws the clothes in more than half the time that my old machine did. I would highly recommend this machine as I've been nothing but pleased with that I just cut my laundry time in half. September 23, 2016
