2013? Really? I hope that one world academy has been helped prior to this. But I found that I was able to insulate my ganged switches by combining 2 or more of the singular wall plate switches. A sharp pair of scissors or a utility knife would aid greatly in this install since the singles will overlap if not cut to fit.

All of our wall sockets are the retangular style as well as rocker arm switches. Will all the sealers in the 14pk work on these?

Asked by: Pat
No, but if you have a single edge razor blade or utility knife you can adapt the ones that weren't designed for your use to fit.

1 Gang Socket Switch and Deco Wall Plate (14-Pack) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 14.

During a cold snap I checked the light switches and outlets on the walls that faced outside and found that the cold air infiltration was greatly reduced. One caveat, use a sharpened pencil or a ball point pen (retracted) to push out the screw hole outlines. That will make preparation for installation simpler. Whatever the company uses to make those holes does an incomplete job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from As far as they go they're fine and they do the job, but ... We live in a house built in the 1950s. The sealers have stopped the obvious flow of air around the cover plates on a few sockets and switches, that (used to) build up dust around them. The sealers certainly did the job. We intend to install the sealers around all of the other outlets and switches in our house. (We'll start with the ones on outside walls, and eventually put them in around all the switches and outlets.) But here's the but ... Over the years, we've redone our kitchen and our bathrooms. We now have more than a dozen "designer" outlets/switches, whose sealers need the square cutouts. Home Depot sells the designer outlets and switches, but the sealers for the designer devices are only included as afterthoughts in the 14-pack. Why doesn't Home Depot carry 14-packs of designer sealers?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They work, but one more item needed to completely seal outlet The product itself fits snuggly around any socket or switch and prevents airflow into or out of the particular switch or socket. I also used this product to insulate the phone jack plates. These plates however are wide open where the phone line used to plug in so a bit of masking tape covering the phone jack connection completely sealed the draft. I used one of the many electrical plug outlet insulators and a pair of sissors to modify the insulator to fit the phone jack plate. However, while the plate is insulated the air flow still remains and seeps through the plug outlet itself. The holes where the plug actually plugs in allows air flow in to or out of the socket. I found I could successfully stop that airflow by using this product from Home Depot: Safety 1st Ultra Clear Outlet Plugs (12-Pack) These plugs fit very tight when installed and block off all air flow from the three holes of the plug itself. There was a noticable differece before and after the installation of these plugs when I held my hand up next to the plug. A 12 pack of these cost a little over two dollars and makes a significant difference when used with the frost King socket insulators. Pics included

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A bit too small I'm installing these on my outside outlets and noticed that they needed to be about a quarter inch longer. I ended up with gaps at the top and bottom. If they were 4.25" long, they would be perfect. They are plenty thick, but again not long enough to completely cover the area. I compared these with some I had previously installed and they are definitely smaller.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Work good but not perfect! Thus is a good insulating product but it could be better. I found it best to caulk around the switch/outlet boxes before using this product. It seals good but some air still comes around it. Had to use some duct tape to seal completely. Still better than nothing but could be better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They work great in old houses. Every square inch adds up when trying to insulate a home and a few packs of these helped me out. my living room is noticeably less drafty now. Only wish is that they sold each type separately. Ended up with a surplus of the rocker switch ones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For a leaky house, well worth the money. If you have a lot of two and three gang switch boxes you will have to do some cutting. If the manufactures would think of this, they could pre-punch some of the cover gaskets to fit multiple gang applications.
