Customer Questions & Answers

R-value and max temperature rating?

What is the R-value of the unfaced (without the foil backing) 3" x 1/2" x 25' roll? and What is the maximum temperature this can withstand? The exhaust pipe on my oil fired boiler (Buderus Logano G115 w/Riello burner) is about 2" away from the 1 1/2" supply pipe. (The hot water out). I want to say the exhaust pipe gets about 5 - 600 degrees F? Is it safe to use this insulation wrap that close to the exhaust pipe?
Asked by: Speedster6185
No, this pipe wrap is not intended to handle this high temperature.

Can I use this to replace missing insulation in my a/c flexible duct return?

I have a 16" flexible return duct on my central a/c and some of the insulation needs to be replaced where the flexible duct connects to the collar.
Asked by: Joe
It would be ok to use this at the joints. It would be better to use the duct insulation that is sold at the store.

Customer Reviews

3 in. x 25 ft. Fiberglass Pipe Wrap Insulation is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Install and lasts through multiple seasons. The insulation comes rolled-up, so you just need to anchor the start end and unroll your way up or down the pipe. The plastic wrap is not so easy to use, but it works well. I finished the job with grey tape, and for unsued faucets, this job has lasted several seasons. I'm buying more and re-wrapping faucets I had to uncover.
