Can it be cut down from 36" if it is too wide for my door? If so, how?

Answer:
You use a hacksaw to hand-cut it down to size. But the "aluminum with vinyl bottom" is much easier to cut and holds up better than this one, so consider getting it instead. I wrote a review of it.

I have a door with about an inch gap under it and I'm trying to contain acrylic nail odor inside the room as to not disturb other office mates. Will this work on an interior door wth commercial grade low pile carpet?

Answer:
No you don't. Hold it up to door before installation an draw a line where you want it to sit on the door. Drill holes to match up. Screw it on. But don't get this one! Get the aluminum with solid vinyl sweep (brown); it's MUCH sturdier. I used both at the same time and this one is breaking apart around the screw holes.

Answer:
Hi ChrisCT,
You do not need to take off the door.
Measure and fit the sweep with the door closed.

Decided to give this a try, and it worked out well. The nice thing about being plastic is my floor isn't perfectly flat, so I could bend this slightly to follow the contour of the floor. Looks good, seals good and doesn't interfere with normal door closure. I just hope it holds up, but if it doesn't it's very affordable to replace.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted Delivery to the store and notification to me were prompt and as expected. No problems at all with this shipment, except that the box was quite crushed. The product is long and thin, and the long, thin box was bent over severely. However the agent opened it for me at the store and we confirmed there was no damage to the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fix Had a problem with the house we bought. The brick steps at the back door was higher than the threshold, which created a gap under the door which allowed lizards to get inside, that didn't go over to good with the boss, this product took care of the problem. Thanks Dave

Rated 4 out of 5 by from extra height for larger gaps under doors This item is light duty, but the height is a bit more than most other sweeps to fill larger gaps under doors. It's best to drill more holes for mounting, doubling the existing number, and use pan head screws because the material is very thin and won't lie flat using only the supplied screws. This item is very paintable to match your door or trim. I mounted it on my laundry room door to stop stray lint from intruding into the rest of the house. Works well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. Works well over solid rubber flap like systems. Quiet and does not leave scuff marks like the flap system. Would be nice in a choice of a dark and medium bracket selection vs just the white. You could, with some careful effort, paint it to a closer color match of your door.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I liked the brush feature on the bottom vs. a rubber strip the product works great. one of my floors is a little uneven (I'm using it in a shop) so the door stays open sometimes, but the dust stays out when the doors are shut and that was my goal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plastic just keeps breaking off around nail holes then slides out of place and cuts leg. I bought the "077578013831 E/O 1-5/8 in. x 36 in. Aluminum and Vinyl Door Bottom Brown" at the same time as this one, just over a year ago. The other is holding up so well I just ordered 4 more. The interior door this one WAS on is one that is being replaced by the other model. The plastic keeps breaking off around the nail holes; then nothing is holding it in place and it slips to the outside of the door. After it slipping out a couple of inches (enough to catch me ankle and scrape me) a few times, we just removed it. You can keep drilling holes in different areas to try to re-use it, but for $6.48 you can just get the aluminum one that is holding up very well.
