Answer:
The only time you would need to remove the door to replace the door bottom, would be if the current door bottom that is being replaced, is a snap-in or bottom nail-on that might be have been factory installed.

The specification is confusing.
Could you please clarify the following:
1) Range of gap it fills? That is the gap between the bottom of door and the top of threshold?
2) Thickness of door?

Thanks.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product! I have refinished three of my exterior doors. This product is a perfect fit for making sure my door bottoms are sealed from the elements. As an added fix, I used thin balsa shims to fill in the gaps between the door bottom and the inside of the weather strip after aligning and making the screw holes. Cut thin sheets of 36"x3" hobby balsa in half to make perfect shims. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SEALS NICELY It was easy and quick to install. I only had to trim a very thin slice. The plastic teeth are pretty flexible so I can see how these might tear if they're sliding across rough surfaces but my main door opens across a large-tile floor so I don't expect to have them tear anytime soon. If they do, I will be back on here to update my post. February 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It Sweeps! Easy to install. I had to trim it down a bit to fit my door, but it worked. The bottom of it is a bit rough on my door stop, but I think and hope that will loosen up over time. November 15, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by easy Being vinyl it is easy to cut to size with decent scissors - this 36 inch door being 35 1/2 inches. September 29, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Tears quickly I've installed two of these door sweeps with almost identical failures. The first tore its two outermost fins in less than a year. The second was installed and double checked for height because I thought I installed the first one incorrectly. Everything checked out and the second one lasted less than 6 months with the outermost and third from the outermost fins tearing. Installation was simple and I didn't need to trim. The fins are pliable when warm but become very rigid in mild winter temperatures (30-40's). This issue isn't unique to Frost King products. February 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brown Slide-On Door Bottom The door sweeper was very easy to install took me less than one hour. February 18, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by does not hold up For what you pay, it's not bad, but it does not really hold up. December 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A must for home energy savings The bottom door slide by the Thermwell Products Co. Inc.aka: Frost King, is a must buy to help with your home energy savings. This product needs to be carried in all stores, so there is no delay in replacing any worn out door bottom slide. In the 90's the slide was made of metal and now the slide is made of colored plastic. The plastic allows for a better door color match and the plastic also makes it very easy to cut to fit. This product is rated 5 out of 5 stars by this DIY homeowner. March 5, 2013
