This was perfect for me. I had a very large gap at the bottom of my door and so much air was coming through. The price is what got me, figured I'd give it a try and if it didn't work it only cost me a few bucks. Easy to measure, used a small hacksaw to cut to size, slid it on, screwed it in place and voila! No air coming in or out! I'm going to save so much on my heating now! Perfect for me, I recommend it, and I'm a girl with limited home improvement skills.

In our condo, we have french doors that open to a balcony. The original builder installed the slide on door bottom incorrectly, so I replaced both sets from HD. While what I did helped, I could still feel a bit of air coming through the screw holes for both doors.
After thinking a bit (and being cold walking by in the middle of the night), I went and bought some spray foam (Great Stuff). I used painter's tape above and below the holes and several inches wide on the floor in front of the holes. I sprayed foam in each screw hole, then let it set. I trimmed the excess, caulked the hole to match the color and was done.
Both doors are now 100% weatherproof with zero air coming through anywhere. As an added bonus, the street noise is just about gone, so the doors are pretty much soundproof too.
Easy fixes that simply took some thought.

I had a review of how mad this was but it must have been just a batch of a couple about a week after my bad review I got a email from a Home Depot rep saying they were sorry for my experience and wanted to send me 2 items for free so I could have another shot at it I said ok got it in the mail and installed a couple days later and had no problems with the sweep ever since been about a month now just wanted to share that Home Depot took responsibility after the products they sell!!!!! Thanks for fixing the problem! Happy holidays!

Not durable. Even when Installed 100% Correctly its worthless The only way this product will work and last for sometime...it cant touch the floor at all when the door is being opened and closed. The only way to do this is to install it up to a certain height on the bottom of the door...then it will be too high to keep the bugs and rodents from coming into your home...Theres no way to balance it out...too high..the bugs come in...too low the strips will tare away from the bottom....then you have to consider that nobodys floor is completely level and no door frame is completely square.....all these elements will affect the performance of the sweep.....if it were a well constructed product then you could get around all the other hurdles that I just mentioned.....but its very poorly constructed....my advice buy another product....hope this helps....I bought this same thing 3 time before I gave up on it. don't waste your money

This worked great at first but it didn't take more than a couple days for the fins to start tearing off. Since there was a bunch I didn't care at first but after about a few weeks more have torn off and now its not keeping the cold out. Don't buy this, its a self destructive product and I feel like I got ripped off!

Item will not stay on door even with screws. I saw this item used on Hometime and I went over to Home Depot to buy. Clarksville IN did not have so I ordered online. Item is not something I will ever buy again.

In my home, I had this slide-on door bottom which wasn't working because the bottom pieces of plastic which stop bugs from coming in your home and make the door seal better were broken off. This replacement was identical to the one that was on. It is made of vinyl and my son had to cut off a very small piece to make it fit on my 36 in door. But it was easy for him to do and didn't take long. since it is fairly new, I am not sure about the durability but so far it has kept bugs from crawling under my door which was my main purpose. And I used to be able to see light under the door but not now. The inside has screws but the outside just slips on.
