I had a full afternoon of work planned installing this stuff. When I unrolled the first package, the foil backing separated from the fiberglass and the batts came apart when barely moved. It was absolutely useless to try and perform a neat appearing job or even a poor job. Got less than three feet of the job more or less installed and looking like a second grader had done it, and decided it wasn't going to happen. One other bit of trivia for you folks. I have worked with fiberglass on many, many occasions. I have never had the stuff eat me up like the batts in this worthless stuff. After forty five minutes of struggling to accomplish nothing, I had to drive straight home and shower...being careful not to rub the stuff in worse than it was. If you have enemies, send them a roll of this product at Christmas time. I gave it one star because that is apparently the lowest grade available.

The foil immediately separated from the insulation as I unrolled it. I held it up to the duct and could see a shower of glass fiber fall from the product. No point trying to wrap the duct as the bath of fibers were going to tear me up and it was going to look like garbage if I ever could tape it all together.

Foil was a little thin, but this product works OK.

Bought this to wrap my rigid dryer vent to keep condensation forming.... will probably work for this but it was extremely difficult to work with. Foil tears easily, does not stay attached to the insulation well at all. Yellow fibers from the glass are extremely annoying, even using long sleaves and gloves. Have a shop vac ready, you will have lots of yellow fibers to clean up! Thankful that my vent is only 8 ft. long. If I knew before I started the project, I would have looked for a different product.

What JUNK! The fiberglass is so fragile that by the time I had finished wrapping the duct there was yellow 'snow' covering everything! I ended up completely taping the seams (and tears) in order to stop it from falling. The foil covering was also very easily damaged and had torn edges right out of the bag.
STAY AWAY!! If you use this, you'll be cleaning up or breathing tiny, broken glass fibers for a long time to come. There have to be MUCH better products! This garbage doesn't even deserve the 1 star I was required to give it.

I agree with all of negative reviews on this product. It is flimsy and you will be inundated with fiberglass.
Comparing it with Flow Master products is night and day. I question if this product actually achieves the R Rating it claims, especially after comparing its quality Flow Master products. I will be returning 2 of the 3 packages of this product that I purchased.

Unless your duct work has a ton of open space around it, good luck! Tears apart too easily and showers you in fiberglass powder. Really frustrating. I'll be looking for foam or bubble wrap style insulation for the rest of my ducts.

I also do not understand all the negative reviews, this worked fine for me. Used it to wrap the HVAC in my basement util room as the duct work was was radiating out so much heat that the room was 90 degrees.
I only had problems with the metal backing falling on one end of the two rolls I bought. I also wrapped the seams with thick metal tape.
