Would the bristles hold up on grass? I want to mount it on the back of my mower deck so I can stripe my yard.

Was thinking use self taping 1/4 sheet metal screws to mount.
Asked by: Scooter
We have never tested a door sweep for use on a lawn mower. My suggestion would be to try it out and see if it works.

How does this door sweep attach to the door? I see that there are holds on the aluminum, but about the holes it seems to have a "L" shape, like it needs to be attached over something. I need a sweep that attaches flat to the front bottom of the door. Thanks
Asked by: Vicky
This door sweep is not meant to be used on the outside of the door since it would have to cross the threshold unless you have an outswing door. A door shoe would be a better choice than a door sweep.

E/O 2 in. x 36 in. Heavy-Duty Aluminum and Brush Door Sweep is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great draft dodger Keeps drafts from entering my home through the front door. Better than a rubber door sweep which wears out over time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as pictured What you see isn't what you get. I needed the sweep to look as it does on the website, with a straight flat back, in order to fit properly to my door. What was shipped is something more with angles - which isn't what I wanted or could use. Had to return and look elsewhere. I found what's pictured on HD at Grainger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best option for flexibility. I used this sweep on an outside utility door that swings inward and faces North. In the past, I often had wind blown debris coming in over the threshold. With the individual bristles, I was able to mount the sweep low enough to cover the 1/4" edge of the threshold center. The flexibility of the bristles still allows the door to open inward easily, but also to seal when closed. The back edge of the sweep has an angled edge at the top so it can be mounted flush on the front of the door at any height. This should keep water from running down the front of the door and coming in on the threshold. The sweep is fairly easy to cut to the proper length with a hacksaw. I added a little epoxy at each end to keep the bristle rod from sliding in the groove at the bottom of the sweep. This is a better sweep than any I have used previously, especially on an inswing door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little pricey but perfect for the job. The brush seal was the only product that could work in the application I had. These were PERFECT. Longer lengths would have been great, but not really needed. Excellent product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor directions...no size given for drill bit needed to install screws. Brushes too stiff for my purpose. I have some unevenness on the floor and hoped the brush feature would accomadate this better than the straight vinyl sweep. This did hot seem to help though. In addition there was no hole size given for the drill bit needed to install the screws on the aluminium door. It took longer to trial-and-error the right bit than it did to install the sweep.
