need just wood replacement for this

Not available as a stand alone product.. You'd have to mill your own if you just need the wood filler backing. Either that, or go to a local mill shop.

how to install

how to install an adjustment
Asked by: Ron
Install T nuts on bottom side, push washers up on screws, PAST the threads, w/ washers pointing down. If need to cut to size, cut both ends, so all 4 adjustment screws remain usable.

i have a 65 inch double door, can i install two (2) thresholds end to end and will it work? or do you have any in that length?
Asked by: bill
You would never want to butt to thresholds end to end for an exterior door. The butt joint would never be able to be sealed well enough to prevent water entry and rot later on. a 72" threshold cut down to proper length would be better.

The product managers told the product engineers something along the lines of. ".....we need an adjustable threshold but make it as cheap as you can!" Result: it adjusts but only via cheap washers; soft pine floor board; oak side strip attache via a couple of staples; adjustment screws made of cheap, pliable metal w/ heads that can easily strip out if too much pressure is applied. Important: 1) if you need to cut the length, cut from each side, so all four adjustment screws remain usable. 2) When you get tired of messing w/ the adjustment washers...paint stirring sticks fit perfectly in the channel under the oak adjustment bar and will help raise the bar.

Interior wood is untreated pine (not oak), which will rot out quickly when exposed to any moisture. Only visible surface is oak. Rear oak strip is just stapled to the main unit, which will detach after repetitive use. I had to disassemble the unit, coat all wood surfaces with polyurethane to prevent moisture absorption, then glue and reattach rear oak strip to ensure it doesn't detach. This is a good example of how "value engineering" (cost cutting) reduces the quality of an item. Especially disappointed because this unit is manufactured in the USA.

The interior is some type of soft wood, certainly not oak. Needs to be preserved before installation. Screw holes are not properly countersunk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frost King threshold is very poor quality the papers say this is oak but the inner board is definitely softwood, and one of the nuts for adjustment screws came loose and the screw won't come out of it, so that screw is afloat; I'm very disappointed in the quality of this item

Rated 1 out of 5 by from horrible I worked on this for several hours and have not yet installed, on 2 of the hole recesses I had to deepen them because the heads of the screws were to high above the the wood. I cannot figure how the adjustment works so I will install and lower the door bottom to fit. In all my years as a contractor, I have never used a worse product. The 1st Frost king I bought advertised 1 1/8" and the lowest it went was 1 1/2" took it back got 2nd one, all day job and still did not work well. Instructions terrible.

Its the same thing that comes pre installed on most of the prehung doors you buy from the lumber yard. So if you need a new one or one to retro fit. This will work! Most of the complaints on here are from people who don't know what theyre doing whining that there wasnt a carpentry manual explaining all the intricate details and the theory that a carpenter has in his head. If you arent a carpenter dont blame the product, blame youre lack of skil.
