CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst tape adhesion!!! I followed the package directions, which is to press firmly and wait 15 full minutes to make sure tape sticks (that should have been a giant red flag-it won't) Grrrr. I have been shrink filming my windows for years . I usually just get a large window kit and cut the film to size for each window. I usually use Duck brand, but this year I tried Frost King. What normally only takes me 20 min. a window is now taking me 40 min plus headaches. Also, now I get to REDO the windows because either the adhesive tape wasn't tacky enough to stick in the first place or came up when I was shrinking the film. I just LOVE having to REDO my work because of poor product! I tried a window a second time with Frost King, only because I had enough of the product and it happened again....poor tape adhesion. DO NOT waste your money on this product! November 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product Product was easy to install, we notice an improvement already. December 17, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by You have got to be kidding I have never written a product review in my life, but this one truly inspires me (for lack of a profane term). This is a great idea, but is impossible to install. You know what would be a great idea...double stick tape that actually sticks to something. The window film will not stick to the tape!!!! I could understand if it didn't stick to the window frame because I had some strange coating or something, but why doesn't the tape stick to the film it came with? This product is impossible. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Window insulation I have used other products like this before with great success. This product was beyond horrible. All the time it takes from thoroughly cleaning the window and trim, cutting the tape and film and the application process just to have the tape not stick. If I could return this product I would. Waste of money February 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does a good job keeping heat in, cold out! Never used a product like this before and left if up to my friend (who rents) to see if it worked before I purchased. Bottom line: Works like a charm! Easy to install (hint: When you're applying the plastic, after letting the adhesive strip set for about 15 minutes, don't remove all the paper backing off the sealant at once. Do a bit at a time as you apply the plastic film.) And despite not using a hair dryer to tighten the plastic, it it keeping the cold drafts out! And, for the rooms that have very old windows, I may leave it up all year long - or as long as it's effective. Yes, I'll buy this again! January 10, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor quality I have used this type of product for several years. This is the first year using this brand, and the last. I found it much more difficult to get a smooth surface than other brands I have used. The finished product had visible flaws that did not disappear with heating. I had one window that was too large for the Frost King sheets I had purchased so I used a 3-M sheet leftover from last year. The difference in the optical clarity between the two products was striking. There is no doubt in my mind that next year I will go back to the 3-M product. November 15, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Use some patience and take your time. Bought this product to cut the draft that was coming in from the Large Window in the Living Room. We didn't really have an issue of the tape sticking to the wall part of the Window frame... which is amazing since the Landlord uses that cheap chalky easy to wipe off with a damp cloth paint. However be sure to wait the 15 min before applying the plastic. The plastic was cumbersome, mainly because of dealing with a thin large piece ( no fault of the product ) However do not pull to hard because it will tear easily. I was impressed afterwards when we used the blow dryer. The plastic film came out Clean and Clear and easy to see through. Word of warning.. be sure to take your time and don't do this in a mad rush to get done before the 2yr old arrives back home from the grandparents. November 23, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Unwritten disclaimer I read the reviews before purchasing this product. I agree the tape is not easy to work with at first, but as suggested by someone else I added heat with the hair dryer, pressed it onto the frame again and it seemed to work fine. Follow the directions for applying the product, but leave extra plastic, do not trim all of it off. If you shrink too much the tape will obviously come up, keep an eye on this. Having the extra plastic in some spots works well so you can add more tape. You cannot remove some of the factory fold lines, so don't bother trying. The product is pretty clear to look thru once installed. I have one window that I have had trouble with (2 others none at all). I believe that the direct sun in this window is causing more shrinkage so the tape is being pulled up. Next time I use this product I will not shrink the plastic as much in this window. A note to those people who have read or written the negative reviews: You're putting plastic in your window. If you want something perfect and wonderful replace the windows. December 16, 2013
