Answer:
I would not recommend it for that application because it is soft and will later compress under pressure. That would lead to cracking of the grout around the tile.

Answer:
To clarify, the question is in reference to this product behind CAULK, in places where the tile meets other material (such as the ceiling) and not behind GROUT.

Do not use in tiling applications. The grout will not hold against the caulking cord.

Answer:
While you could use this, it would dry out over time and leak. So, it might be better to use a silicone-based sealant which will not dry out over time. That will give a more permanent seal.

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good for hard to reach places I used this weatherstripping in a hard to reach area around our fresh air intake pipe for our furnace. It was in an awkward spot in which I could not use a tube caulking gun so I installed this weatherstripping rope around the 4" pipe easily with just hand pressure. It is very flexible and moldable so it will work well in irregular crevices, and it will not drip or slide like a liquid caulk might do before it hardens. I highly recommend it! February 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ok but can stick to fingers Used this product around most of my windows and could notice a difference. Drafts reduced significantly. It can stick to your fingers while pushing it in, mostly on (cleaned) plastic surfaces. I think a chalk of some kind would've helped, I used water and that was ok but my fingers started to get very sticky by the end. Not sure how well the putty will hold, I had a lot of small cracks, the bigger ones should be fine. December 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product! Worked perfectly for sealing windows from cold air! February 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MORTITE ROPE CAULK THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT MY HUSBAND DISCOVERED THAT WORKS REALLY WELL FOR CAULKING THE OUTSIDE OF OUR LOG HOME AROUND THE WINDOWS! ORDINARY CAULK REQUIRES A CAULKING GUN, AND THE JOB CAN BE MESSY AND INACCURATE, BUT MORTITE'S ROPE CAULK IS IN A ROLL FORM, AND YOU ONLY PULL OFF AS MUCH AS YOU NEED AT A TIME. PRESSING THE CAULK INTO THE SPACE YOU WANT TO MAKE AIR AND MOISTURE-TIGHT, IT MAKES THE JOB EASY AND HASSLE-FREE. WE LOVE IT! July 28, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mortite this is excellent to seal around windows inside and out it's easy to apply no mess you can pull off as much as you need it comes in a roll which makes it easy also seals around door frames you can seal around pipes under sinks to it has a lot of different uses i love it November 6, 2010
