Customer Questions & Answers

The Height Requirment is 36"

I like this look, but.... I live in WA State and the required railing height is 36" but the Baluster is only 25.35". How can use this to meet the code?
Asked by: Jo
Hi Jo, thanks for asking the question. This baluster is designed to be used with the Fusion handrail system. This system incorporates a Fusion shoe rail (or a base rail) as well as Fusion handrail. Used together and installed correctly, the top of the handrail will meet or exceed the 36-inch rail height requirement you have for your staircase. If you plan to use this baluster separately from the Fusion system, it may not work properly. We will post a picture of this handrail system so you can get a better idea of how it all functions together. Thank you!

Balusters in a balcony area wall to wall

Can you use these balusters in a balcony area with a straight run with hand rail and bottom peace if not do you carry balusters that can be used in the tipe of area?
Asked by: Pugs
Pugs, you can use these balusters in a straight/balcony run with handrail and shoe rail PROVIDED that the rail height and baluster spacing you choose meets your local building codes. We suggest you check with your local municipality to learn the codes for your area. If you have additional questions, we'll be glad to help. Thank you!

Are the bottom shoes flat or angled?

The text and picture appear to imply that both the top and bottom are angled, but for most applications shouldn't the bottom be at 90 degrees, and just the top angled? I'm confused.
Asked by: tominco
Tominco, these balusters come with angled shoes at the top and bottom. They are designed to be used with the Fusion rail system that utilizes both a base rail and handrail. They are not designed to be used on standard/conventional balustrades as you describe. We will post an image of the system soon that will illustrate how they are used on a stairway. If you have additional questions, we will be glad to help. Thank you!
