The text and picture appear to imply that both the top and bottom are angled, but for most applications shouldn't the bottom be at 90 degrees, and just the top angled? I'm confused.

Answer:
Tominco, these balusters come with angled shoes at the top and bottom. They are designed to be used with the Fusion rail system that utilizes both a base rail and handrail. They are not designed to be used on standard/conventional balustrades as you describe. We will post an image of the system soon that will illustrate how they are used on a stairway. Answer:
Hi Chris, the shoes in the Fusion staircase balusters are designed to flex between 38-45 degrees. They are not that forgiving, so getting them to the extreme angles should be done slowly. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you!

In addition to stair flights where this item would fit, I have a matching balcony where I would need the same rods but with flat (90 degree) mounts. Is this available?

Answer:
Thanks for asking that question. Yes, there is a Landing/Balcony baluster that has flat shoes to accommodate level runs of rail. It is HD Internet# 202531965, or use SKU 986-976 when ordering. The level balcony balusters are designed to be used with a shoe rail or base rail (note the length of the baluster). We'll be glad to answer any more questions you have.Thank you!
