Product Overview

G-Floor RaceDay Peel and Stick Tiles are easy to apply and are ideal for all types of floors, including garages, basements, workshops, laundry rooms and offices. Made from specially formulated 100% polyvinyl, they are resistant to most contaminants found in garage or work environments. Each 12 in. x 12 in. Midnight Black tile is fashioned with a rugged diamond-tread texture, comprised of raised diamonds measuring 1-1/8 in. long and spaced 5/8 in. apart. Liquids, debris and dirt are easily trapped in the diamond texture to foster no-hassle cleanup. Customer Questions & Answers

Will the tiles come loose when wet?

When snow melts from my car & forms puddles on the floor will the tiles loose their adhesion?
Asked by: chief
I really don't think they would. The adhesive isn't water soluble (try washing it off!) and it covers the entire back of the tile with no gaps. Maybe if a tsunami washed away your whole house, they'd come loose, but I doubt puddles from a drippy car would have any effect at all.

Do these tiles come in red?

Asked by: TREX
They come in red, yellow, green, blue, orange, purple, grey, black and tan! The black ones are less expensive though.

My garage floor is painted with Epoxy paint. I'm afraid this peel-and-stick tile will peel off with the epoxy paint. Should I use a primer to coat the floor first? if Yes, what primer should I use? Also, I saw several complains about cutting the tile. Any good ideas?
Asked by: Daniel
A good thing to consider is if your epoxy is peeling, which is a common problem with Epoxy. If it is peeling then nothing will stick to it, you may want to consider a roll out flooring option which won’t be affected by this.

For those who have this product, how does it hold up under a floor jack when lifting up a car? Does it leave imprints in the material after you remove the jack?
Asked by: Don68
The floor can hold up to the weight without any issue, it is designed to be driven on. If there are any sharp edges then the floor can be cut.

Customer Reviews

RaceDay 12 in. x 12 in. Peel and Stick Diamond Tread Midnight Black Polyvinyl Tile (20 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not so easy to install, but look great! Just be aware, these tiles are EXTREMELY difficult to cut. They don't score and snap like other vinyl tiles. I asked in the Q & A how to cut them, and the respondent, for whatever reason, assumed I had tried to cut them with a "craft knife" (maybe because that's what is shown in the instructions). No, I had a big honkin' Stanley Fatmax utility knife and it literally didn't even make a dent (which is sort of a good thing - I think it would probably take some effort to actually damage a floor covered with this stuff). I even took one poor tile, mangled by a saw blade (which, by the way, was history in about 3 seconds) back to Home Depot, and the guys in the flooring department couldn't cut it with their presumably sharp linoleum knives, either. I ended up buying a sheet metal cutter, which cuts them pretty easily if you don't mind hand cramps and excruciating blisters. If you are laying whole tiles, only, though, installing them is super-easy. Someone asked if water would cause them to lift (they got a bad answer, too). Seriously, these boogers stick so well that I think if they had used them on the Titanic they'd still be stuck to it. I live in Maine, which in winter means salt, sand, mud and water being tracked into the house. I purchased them to use at my kitchen door, because I just laid a new kitchen floor (Trafficmaster Ceramica - easy peasy) and I didn't want all that gunk on my new tiles. Overall, I am very pleased with the result, but I think if I use them again in an area where a lot of tiles need to be cut and fitted, I will have someone else install it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Peel and Stick Tile Made This tile is some of the best, if not the best on the market. I have this tile in my garage and have four Harleys stationed on it. Very durable and eye-pleasing. I also just returned from a major bike show in Maryland yesterday and used the tile as part of my display. I won 1st place with both bikes and have to attribute some of the credit to the excellent look of the flooring. Had people constantly asking what the product was and where they could purchase it. Overall, an excellent floor tile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Fantastic Floor Prep was minimal (had a small area to level and a few cracks to fill) Used both 12x12 and 24x24 tiles. This floor looks great in my garage and was a lot less work than getting a dirty, cracked floor ready for paint. Garage is clean all it takes is a damp mop. Very strong floor

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just about the best floor possible. Floor went down easy and looks great. Not as inexpensive as epoxy paint, but far superior durability (no hot tire pickup). Much better than interlocking floors that sit up off the concrete, if you plan on actually working on your vehicles. Trim pieces and garage door seal/transition strip really save material (no small pieces to cut) and add a professionally finished look. Home Depot black plastic cove base really finished it off nicely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot Tire Pick-up Preventer I bought a box of these tiles not to re-do my garage floor but to protect my freshly painted floor from hot tire pick-up. My original 35 year-old floor had been assaulted by winter salt run-off from the cars, and repainted once with an oil based paint. That surface was short-lived and no match to the adhesion that occurs when a recently driven ("hot") tire sits for a period of time on the painted floor surface. An epoxy-enamel paint system would've been ideal to remedy this malady but the materials cost to treat my two-stall garage would've been $800+, notwithstanding the extensive prep that would've been necessary. I compromised with a scraping and scrubbing of the floor, followed with a fresh application of a Sherwin Williams Urethane Alkyd Enamel-based paint (touted to be tougher than standard fare oil-based floor paints). Three gallons ran close to $140 but the extensive color choices were a definite plus. The paint was, however, not impervious to hot tires. Since the pick-up occurs only when the tire has time to sit and cool, it occurred to me that I should somehow protect those spots specifically. In my search for adhesive tile options, I found the Raceday product. One box of tiles addressed my two stalls readily, with two tiles up front for each of four tires, and three tiles out back for each of four tires, for a total of 20 in the box. They're clean looking and subtle against my dark green floor surface. As for the hot tire pick up - so far, so good.
