Hello and thank you for your question. WeatherSide™ Fiber Cement Siding shingles come with pre-drilled nail holes. Thus, pre-drilling is not required for installation. For more information, please contact GAF's technical team at 877-GAF-ROOF (877-423-7663), option 5. They'll be glad to help!

Answer:
I did not count them, but they say one package will do about 3 bundles. That's 54 shingles, each with 3 holes would be about 162 nails.

I have installed 1/2" rigid foam board insulation over the sheathing as an insulator. Will these nails be long enough to secure the Weatherside fiber cement shingles to the sheathing? Do they come in longer length? If so what length would be best?

This would leave about 1” for penetration into the wood sheathing behind the rigid foam. Unfortunately, GAF doesn’t offer a long Read More

Hi Kathy, one of the better screws to use for cement board is made by Buildex. They have a screw that is called Rock-On. I have provided a link below. Check it out, I think you will find this is what you need.
