Weatherside fiber cement siding is the one and only solution for replacing or repairing old asbestos siding shingles. It's available in a variety of sizes and shapes to match many of the old siding shingles installed over the last 60 years. Unlike some of the original siding shingles that it replaces, Weatherside pre-primed siding shingles contain no asbestos. It's easy to install, after properly removing the old siding, simply nail the WeatherSide siding in place and paint.WeatherSide is even resistant to warping, denting, rotting, expansion/contraction and termite infiltration.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 38 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GAF gets six stars - Home Depot 4 stars - Avg = 5 I was looking to repair an old house with asbestos shingled siding. Found the GAF Purity shingles. I wanted a sample before ordering. Went to Home Depot on a Saturday, contractor desk. No one working... please come back on Monday. 2nd trip, back on Monday, went back to the contractor desk, no samples. Then I was told to order on Home Depot.com because "we are two separate organizations" Really?... the people at the store cannot order shingles for me at the desk? Tried to order a sample. Was told that I have to buy in full packs. (100 bucks a pop). Sent an Email to GAF, Next day, got an email, I responded with the size and type I wanted. Two days later, they arrived at my door, free of charge. I'm being generous by giving Home Depot 4 stars. GAF deserves more. They responded quickly and I appreciate the fact that this type of product is available. My shingle siding project was small and probably wasn't much of a sale for GAF, however I'll be doing a roof this summer and will make sure I use GAF, they deserve most of the credit here. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Precisely what I was looking for as a replacement of an old product. One of the difficulties of our "modern" world is finding matching products for materials from 40 or more years old. These shingles match up perfectly with the old "sealed asbestos" siding on one of our outbuildings. Very pleased. May 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Upstate New York Just what I needed to replace the existing shingles on my house. Old shingles are brittle but I used an oscillating cutter on the nails and the replacements were simple. Needed a masonry bit to drill holes in these shingles. They were shipped and delivered attached to a pallet . I used a wet saw to cut the short way but had to buy a masonry blade for the long cuts. August 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good replacement product This product matches perfectly with the old tiles. It comes Pre-primed which is great. No need to buy primer. Cutting and shaping the tiles get challenging, Invest in a good cutting tool it will make installing much easier. June 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cementboard Sidng I found this product to be particular for my needs. I have a older home with almost identical siding and found this product super easy to install. Cutting or making holes takes some time, but the product is strong. It has some pre-drilled holes too. May 12, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good replacement shingles Used to replace several rows of old asbestos shingles on a 1952 home. The size was a little different (old shingles were 27 inches) but the 24 inch shingles worked fine and once painted you don't notice the size difference. Very pleased with the product. Pre-drilled holes for nails were very nice. June 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great replacement Great siding replacement for old asbestos siding! Not really around anymore July 7, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great replacement for old asbestos siding of the same dimensions. There are 18 pieces with each being 24" w x 12" high with a 1" overlay on the piece below (so 24" w x 11" exposed). The cement board takes paint very well because the texture grooves aren't as deep as my original tiles. The cement board is durable enough while handling but small corners can break occasionally when cutting them to fit. I gave up on scoring with a carbide scribe and breaking because they almost always broke wrong. Now I use a 4" diamond blade; it's dusty but works very well. Also get a 1/8" carbide drill bit to put new nail holes when resizing a piece to fit (don't try to force the nail!). These tiles are an exact fit (nail holes included) with my 1976 asbestos tile siding. I wouldn't do an entire house with these it would take forever and get pricey. The box they come in gives very good protection; I've never had a broken one. October 21, 2014
