Had 2 GE 1.4 countertop microwaves in 10 months and both had the same problem.
First GE 1.4 countertop microwave purchased was returned to the store with in 30 days days due to problem listed below.
Second GE 1.4 countertop microwave purchased in 8th month service tech came to repair. (SAME PROBLEM) GE ended up replacing the microwave because the part has been on backorder for months due to quantity of replacement parts needed per service tech.
Problem: Stops running on its own prior to time set due to faulty relay switch.
GE will replace microwave due to part not being available "ONLY" if under warranty. Lucky mine was still under the 1 year warranty.
Highly suggest extended warranty to have peace of mind if purchasing.

Works efficiently once you read the instructions and understand menu selections.
The door open button is a harder push than usual.

When our 2000 GE 1.4 cu ft. microwave tanked right after Christmas, not a good time for an extra expenditure, we tried using a .9 cu ft other brand from our camp trailer. After one day, we bit the bullet and ordered the same model GE as we had before. And glad we did. Same display, etc. No having to get used to something not as good as we had. And the new one fits the wall cabinet shelf where the old one was. Glad something didn't get 'improved' that didn't need improving.

It was great while it worked. Lasted 9 months. Right price. Right size, Lots of power. Looks good. Fairly easy to use. THE GE WARRANTY PROCESS is such a pain with so many whoops to jump through, it's just not worth it. I guess it's designed to work that way so the average person will just drop it. Well, they won, I lost. Think twice. Ms.G.E.Sue, please don't comment, it will just add insult to injury.

Numerous problems with the clock and timer. Clock lost two hours overnight - every night. Never knew if I'd get a buzz if I pressed start or it would start. Luckily, was still in 90 day return period. As we were getting ready to leave for the winter I did not replace it. Easily returned.
