I purchased this microwave oven about 2 yrs ago and the interior paint started peeling a few weeks ago. In searching online, there are numerous complaints about this issue. After calling GE, they offered me $50 towards another GE microwave and said that they are not aware of this issue. This was unbelievable to me as consumer reviews on their own site list the issue. I asked the rep to just type in "GE microwave peeling issue" in Google but they refused. I was truly disappointed in the response I received from GE regarding this issue.
I would not recommend any GE microwave unless you are planning to purchase one every couple of years.

I chose this model of microwave on the recommendation of Consumer Reports. I've only had it for a few weeks, but it seems to be working well and has all the features that I need.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Goozer13 GE has the WORST customer service EVER
Purchasing the microwave was a task in itself but I came home with the product only to realize that GE has no idea how to write an instruction manual. The charcoal filter was not in the box as the manual stated and the fan needs to be rotated for recirculating air, even though the manual doesn't mention that. I had tried to order the filter through GE for 2 weeks now. Every time I call there it's like running backwards naked through a brier patch. On four occasions, FOUR, I was made broken promises. TWO WEEKS and no WARRANTY filter. WTH man, this is BS. I am never, EVER, purchasing GE again simply based on the customer service alone. It was and is the worst experience I've ever had in customer service.

There is a trick to drill holes for the top of the Microwave. The template sometimes doesn't match properly so go to the home depot and get two screws that exactly fit the top of the microwave. When you get home take the purchased screws and remove heads and sharpen the head end of the screw. When you have installed the back bracket on the wall. Screw in the screws so sharpened heads stick out. Swing the Microwave on the bracket up to the cabinet so the screws mark the bottom of the cabinet. Now you have an exact mark where the screws go. Use a small drill bit to drill to drill up into the cabinet . Then from the top drill with proper sized drill. This will allow you not to chip the inside of the cabinet. The holes now are where they should be. Your won't complain about chipping inside of the cabinet. This works with no additional misplaced holes ( your wife or SO won't keep reminding you about the chipping. Great Microwave and looks good over stove. Ed
