So is the reverse a mirror of the front as shown so that the coaxial cable and/or hdmi cable running through the wall plugs/screws into the back?

yes they are, you will need a total of 3 hdmi cables per connection

Hey Jeff,
This is Gregg from the How-To Community at http:// community.homedepot.com. Yes the coax and the HDMI are just couplers. You will plug in a cord to each side of the plate. No hardwiring required.

Answer: 
You need 3 HDMI cables per input using these. One from the device to the wall, the one that runs between the plugs in the wall, and one from the wall to the TV.

Hi Cameron - While we do not have access to a picture of the back of the unit in our current resource library, this item is a good quality combination HDMI and Coaxial wall plate with the connectors plated in gold for high quality audio/visual in-wall installations using with any standard coaxial or HDMI cabling or cords.
