This is the first time I used this brand filter. The quality seemed very good. It seems to be working fine--- I can not comment of durability. Prior reviewers said great things about it, which is why I got it.
I can say the price was great. I had a hard time buying. The item was not available at my local store and could not be delivered there. When I tried to order it and have it delivered, the website would not let me order it...Out of stock.
I called the number from the Web order and was able to place the order over the phone.

I purchased several of these for my GE housing. I note Home Deport no longer stocks the GE unit or these filters. The usual price was around $15-16. I bought these online for less than $10. I assume Home Depot is just getting rid of their stock. The store now carries a generic filter which will likely do the job just fine. The only negative for these filters is the requirement to flush them for 10 minutes, wait an hour and flush for another 10 minutes. A waster of water. Normally one could use the flushed water in the garden but, in my case, it is soft water and therefore has a higher sodium content.

We have a double filter system on our well system to reduce the sediment in our water for us and for horses. These filters work great! we change every month or so. You cannot beat the Home Depot price and ease of delivery!

The filter is something you need if you have a water pump at your home. It is a good standard filter and Home Depot at $10.99 has a great price, but you have to order it online and have it shipped to the store for free for pickup. So plan ahead if you want to get this filter cheaply from them.

I have been using the Ge sediment filter in SW Florida for well water for 5 years. I get the water tested regularly and it's always good. I was buying them in store for $16 and change out the door. Didn't realize they are less on line until I went to buy one a couple weeks ago. Our local home depot didn't have any on the shelf. Instead there was a HDX universal fit sediment filter. looked the same and I really needed a new filter, it was same price, so I bought it. I soon found out HDX wasn't the same. HDX is made in China and has 50 pleats, GE made in Mexico and has 78 pleats. HDX paper pleat quality is not as good as GE, which was obvious to the eyes and to the touch. HDX only lasted 1 month. GE lasts my family 3 months - 3 people, showers every day, washer couple times a week, and dish washer few times a week. We do clean out the big well water tank every time we install a new filter and we have a water softener so that may prolong the filters life for us. I will continue to buy the GE filters as long as the filter unit itself will hold up!

I use two filters per month, so the cost is important. Ordering online makes my monthly cost affordable.

Put a dual filter system in my home to filter the well water....wow what a difference! I use the Home Depot pleated filter at the beginning and it really works well eliminating the heavy stuff. Then I use the solid filter on the backside. I am very please the pleated filters really work. Check out the results in my photo.

Great price for a quality filter. Bought on-line, so no delivery charge. Can't really say that that it out performed the other filters I've tried, but they've lasted equally as long.
