Customer Questions & Answers

Can this be used for an underground temp power pole?

Asked by: Anonymous
Wow, the other answers were completely off mark. This is designed for use as a TEMPORARY overhead feed (ONLY) power panel. It serves no other purpose and is likely not approved for use as service equipment by your local utility. This is a great residential temporary power box at a great price point. You would send close to $108 to build an over head panel with breakers and GFCI, etc. Not to mention the time savings and the professional look of this unit. Hope this helps!

what type of connector goes on the panel first to attach conduit to the top of the box

Asked by: billneedshelp
You utilize a conduit hub. This is manufactured by GE and used exclusively for their products. I would recommend an 1 1/4" hub since the maximum wire size is 100, but most utilities only allow 60 Amp temp poles, so run #6 copper or #4 aluminum.

Does this panel have the breakers and GFI receptacles included as in the picture?

Asked by: MMGood51
Yes, exactly as pictured. This is a great value, you cannot build it for less.

Are the GFCI weather resistance?

Asked by: nick
No, there is no requirement for temporary service equipment to be WR or TR. They are enclosed and not exposed to weather. This is a "damp" location according to the NEC

100 Amp Ringless Metered Temporary Power Box with GFCI Top Feed is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great temporary power This is exactly what I needed to put up my temporary power pole. I just put 1 1/2" conduit and an entrance cap, ran entrance cable, a ground rod and mounted it to a 16 ft 4X4. The power company said this was one of the cleanest temp power poles they have seen. So much easier than mounting a meter base, breaker panel, receptacle boxes etc. If you need temporary power as a home builder or any project that requires it, this is definitely the way to go!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Make sure this meets local code requirements! Purchased for a large rehab project and set it up and called for inspection. Did not pass local requirements for several reasons and now that it was installed, is Not returnable. Do you due diligence and make sure it will be acceptable.
