Answer:
This fixture can be direct wired if you purchase the GE Junction box sold separately (Home Depot SKU 494-469). Its really pretty easy...All you do is run the power into the junction box (wire nuts are included) and then plug the fixture into the junction box using the linking cable that is included with the fixture.

Answer:
The color temperature relates to how closely the light spectrum of the light resembles the sun. A light temperature of 5600 deg C fully reproduces the sun's light.

Answer:
That will depend entirely on the thickness of your cabinet lower shelf. In theory, yes. The LED fixture is very light and shouldn't take much screw to be sunk into the wood of your cabinet to hold it on fast. I'd recommend at least, say a half-inch of screw depth into your wood. And be sure to pre-drill your holes if you're worried about splitting the wood.

I only see an on/off switch on mine. It does not seem to say anything specific on the packaging. The lights are surprisingly affordable, so my best guess is "no".

Hi Tm,
Thank you for your question.
I did contact the manufacturer with your question and here is their comment-
"No, this light fixture is not dimmable. Right now, it is difficult to find an LED fixture that can be attached to a dimmer switch. There are LED fixtures out there that have a dimmer switch, but they cost about twice as much"
Hope this helps!

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quick and Easy The lights were affordable and so very easy to install. PRO'S: On/Off switch is neatly located on the lighting strip. If you don't have the skills to hardwire, this is the next best thing. The cords were run up through the inside of the cabinets to the electrical outlet at the microwave. A small hole was drilled to allow cords to be run through cabinet shelving. Quick and simple. January 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by You will NOT be disappointed! I purchased this light to replace an 18" fluorescent light that annoyingly only worked when it wanted to inside the computer armoire. Since the computer is mostly used after dark, I was worried that the 2 LED's would not be enough. The lighting tech at Home Depot said it would provide plenty. He was correct. It provides just as much light as that 18" fluorescent did - when it worked. I easily installed it over a week ago and I am thrilled with it and LED's can't create the fickle problems of what it replaced! August 16, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install and nice light quality I installed this light model under cabinets in our kitchen. The installation was easy under our sink where there shelf is thick. You will find that the keyhole mount will require you to add a block of wood under standard cabinets to prevent the mounting screws from poking through into the interior of the lower cabinet shelf. I have purchased three of these to this point. One of them was DOA. They are such a good value that I went ahead and ordered replacements. When I looked at the photo on the home depot site, I did not think that the small light source would provide much illumination. Now that its installed I can say that it does a good job adding light to the counter. I suggest getting the three light version for over the sink or if you need lights to be stronger because of vision challenges. February 28, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great, but pricey These lights installed easily and look fantastic in my kitchen! These are definitely the best under-cabinet lights available. They were pricey, but I chose to use these lights under the cabinets and use very inexpensive string lights above the cabinets giving a professional and cost-effective overall look to my kitchen. My husband still can't believe I put them in myself ;) January 17, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect under cabinet light I have been very happy with this light strip. I have installed them under the kitchen cabinets to add counter light. The lights stay cool to the touch no matter how long you leave them on. I also added one inside a bathroom cabinet where I hide my litter box. It offers more than enough light and adds no heat to the cabinet. February 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job Overall, this is an excellent light fixture. It's easy to install, and links up with other units so you don't have to worry about taking up all your outlets. My one complaint is that the linker provided is merely 12" long. The light is bright and pleasant. I've had it for over a year and have had no problems whatsoever. January 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This is a two light-NOT 3 light Bar This is a two light bar, besides the fact the description says three. It's easy to install, lightweight, runs cool. Color is great for kitchen work. White color light is enough for good "task lighting," yet not too bright. Must use GE Direct wire junction box (Product ID- 24772)if you want to direct wire this into a switch. December 29, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love these. Nice and Bright! I bought several of these for under my kitchen cabinets. It would be nice if there was an option to install them so one switch would turn them all on/off at once rather than individually since they're connected. Still, they look fabulous and this was a great update that brightens up my dark countertops. June 20, 2012
