Have a fixture that uses 4 F17/T8 bulbs on a single ballast (existing is some brand I can't find info on). I can't find any ballast meant for four bulbs that short.

Answer:
Great Question, There Are Some Ballast That Would Work, But Generally Speaking You Are Better Off In Getting Ballast Designed For The Bulb Set up You Have In Your Fixture. Be Sure To Be Save And Make Sure Power Is Off At The Breaker Prior To Servicing Fixture.

Answer:
no, don't use the ballast for different length of bulbs. the wattage needs to match the ballast. you can try looking on line to find the correct size because the 24" bulbs are not as common. you can also use 2 ballasts that are designed for two tubes, just make sure you don't cross the wires from each end.

Yes You Can. The Upside Is The Sockets Are The Same, And You Are Going To Save Energy Cost As Well As The t8's Tend To Last Longer Than The t12.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your question.
Yes, can use, and the same sockets will fit T12 and T8.
In order to do so, we recommend you to understand and follow the wiring diagram on the new ballast.
The diagram is on the label on the ballast.
Hope this helps.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unacceptable for home or office This ballast will light T8 bulbs brightly, but carries a warning that it should not be used for residential uses. Also, wherever it is used it will interfere with radio reception, causing a static buzz. For me this is unacceptable for my home, the studio where I work, and garage. Even battery-operated radios are affected. The GE Ballast toll-free line was equally disappointing. After listening to GE ads for twenty minutes, I spoke to a polite representative who had to put me on hold again to look up information on ballasts. High marks to Home Depot though! I bought this product from a hardware store closer to my home. After returning it, I found the Philips residential product was featured at Home Depot. Half the price and it works perfectly!
