We use this light to install under cabinets and in dark areas of closets. This shorter light we also use near Hot Water Heaters for added light where it is important to see what you are doing.

I have 3 of these under my cabinets for 16 years. One actually failed today the new one is identical. Excellent for $25ish bucks.

The is a very bright light to put under your counter. It is a bit pricey but in comparison to the others out there, we bought it anyway.

I have several of these of different sizes in my kitchen mounted under the upper cabinets to provide additional countertop lighting. The were easy to install. Mine are hardwired into an existing switch. I installed them approx. 15 months ago. They are used daily and still have the original bulbs.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CUI old desk lamp
Unchanged from 15 years ago, except for moving mounting holes just enough so that I couldn't use the old unit's mounting.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JR 18 IN. FLUORESCENT LIGHT FIXTURE
I bought this light for under my cabinets in the kitchen. My work area is rather dark without it., since my old (probably 40 year s, florescent) one died. I couldn''t use the screws to hang it since the shelf was too thin. I ordered industrial strength (so they say) velcro strips, on Amazon, and used 4 sets of the 10 in the package to hand this. It worked perfectly. I used this picture when reviewing the velcro strips. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jar631 Another GE cheaply made Chinese product that dies after warranty expires
I purchased the "premium" GE fixture figuring it would last many years.
After 5 years of gentle use the unit died. Changed the bulb once after about 4 years, which we thought was good. But then after 6 months with the new Philips bulb the entire unit died. These fixtures should last 20 years or more; not 5. The GE warranty is 3 years, and it dies after 5. Curious timing.
I'm taking the unit with my receipt back to Home Depot to see if they would be able to do anything like maybe replace the unit and return it to GE for us.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Chuck Poor quality strain relief fitting
Quality was good except for the strain relief fittings for the wiring. They were very poor quality. The nut used to tighten the fitting was not matched to the threads on the fitting, so it was impossible to tighten the fitting adequately.
