Hello, This is Joyce from GE. I will be happy to help! This particular model is designed to be installed in a window only. GE does have several models that can be installed in a wall. Please check with a Home Depot associate for assistance. Thanks so much for your question. Have a good day!

Well GE gave the "standard" answer but I've installed several of this type of air conditioner in sliding windows with no problem at all; just use common sense with the mounting then block off the upper part with plywood or Plexiglas.

Hello sash - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. We're sorry, this unit would not fit in a sliding glass window nor could we recommend using this window air conditioner in a sliding glass window. Since our appliances have been designed to meet specific requirements, we do not support altering or changing any aspect of the installation. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by energy star I purchased this air conditioner at the beginning of the summer of 2015. I found to be more than I had anticipated. It ran very quiet and cooled my room space in the energy saving mode saving me from a high electric bill. October 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by rating best product in good old USA for window air conditioners September 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent AC Unit cooled my whole upper floor during blast furnace like days this August 2015. I am very pleased with this unit August 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked perfect This unit is the best AC I have had in a long time. It assembled fairly easy. It is 110 volt which will lower energy consumption costs. As far as the btu rating goes this unit is under rated. I have a 2200 square foot split level home that got cooled down with this unit and a small 5000 btu unit on the top level in a mere 45 minutes. Unit is also quiet compared to our old unit that we had to scream over, you barely have to change the volume on entertainment with this unit in full cycle. All in all a good buy provided it lasts the length of time. June 24, 2015
