I wanted a stainless fridge to fit in a fairly small space, and this was the only option that I found that fit my space requirements. So I was happy to find that it is quite sturdy, and seems to do its job of keeping things cold really well. There are two things to be aware of that I see others have also mentioned. 1) Due to the layout of my kitchen, the door can only open 90 degrees (it is against a wall). Because of this, the door-side crisper drawer catches in the rubber seal on the door. It opens about 3" before it hits the seal, and with some careful tugging I am able to open it far enough to fill it, but I do worry that the seal will eventually tear, either over time or if one unsuspecting person forces it open. I am considering replacing the drawer with a smaller plastic bin, which really isn't ideal. 2) The stainless door (note the sides are some sort of magnetic dark grey material) smudges very easily. I read this in other reviews and wasn't too concerned, since this is a fairly inexpensive stainless fridge. But I also find that it seems to be very susceptible to rust (or some other rust colored speckling). Within a few days of receiving the fridge, I found rust colored speckles under a magnet, and have since removed all magnets from the door. I have also found more speckles developing on the side of the door. I haven't decided whether or not this is enough of a problem to reach out to customer service yet, since so far I seem to have been able to remove most, but not all, of it with some elbow grease. So for people who are limited in their choices due to space, this is a solid little fridge that will get the job done. But if you have other options, I might consider spending a little more to get a better quality stainless.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by refrigerator Generally happy except for a minor but important flaw
It is good for the price and especially for the size, since we had size restrictions and not many options to choose from. A big problem is that the door, which we can open 90 degrees only because of a wall next to the fridge, is in the way of one of the crisper drawers, which can only be opened 3 inches. That's a huge problem and one that ought to be stated in the specs.

There isn't a separate temperature for the fridge and freezer. The freezer is awful. The ice cream is always mushy. So you turn down the overall temperature and then the stuff in the freezer is still mushy but half the food in the fridge freezes like yogurt and hummus. This fridge is garbage and I wish I never bought it.

Bought this in June 2015 for a second refrigerator downstairs. Worked fine setting thermostat just past colder(recommended). Now have it set on coldest and this makes it run all the time turning it into an energy hog. Internal refrigerator temp now at 56 deg. F. Freezer temp is at 11 deg. F. Both have plenty of items in it to hold the temp where it should be. Bought this to fit in opening of previous unit. Have other GE appliances, but may have to start looking at other brands after this.

This unit is quiet running and performs as expected. The only thing I wish it had where rear levelers. It comes with front leveling feet but lacks them in the rear. I would recommend this appliance.

I love the looks of this fridge, but the ice cream in my freezer is soft while the fridge part is fine. There is also frost at the top part of my freezer and the vent part in the back of the freezer is all crusted with frost.

The refrigerator did not work from the beginning, but because it took so long to cool down, it took us more than 48 hours to figure it out. Thus, we could not return it. So we are stuck dealing with GE repair (or should I say GE make you wait). We had to wait 5 days for him to show up, only to tell us he didn't have the part. He is not returning for 9 more days (that is if they send us the part within 9 days.)
Given that we had to wait 7 days after we ordered the product, we have been without a refrig for 3 weeks. Not sure if we would have had better service if we bought from a local store, but I do know that I will go out of my way to not buy a GE product.
