Hello,
I am happy to help. The normal operation of your refrigerator will cause some sound. The following list contains sounds that are normal.
A Chirping/barking/woof/howl sound can sometimes be heard as the damper door opens/closes.
A change in fan speed as the refrigerator responds to changes in temperature due to door opening.
A clicking/tic toc noise can be heard when the defrost timer switches on and off.
A click can be heard when the temperature control unit turns the unit on and off.
A boiling, gurgling, or knocking sound can be heard when the unit is running. This is caused by the circulation of refrigerant.
Gurgling sound in the door. This sound can be heard just after the door is closed because of the water in drain tube trap area. It can last several seconds.
A drip may be heard when defrost water is dripping into the pan beneath the refrigerator.
The icemaker will make a loud noise when cubes are dropped into the bucket.
A hum or click can be heard when the icemaker fills with water. This sound may be heard once or multiple times.
A cracking or popping sound can be heard when evaporator coils on Top Mount No Frost models are cooling after defrost.
Buzzing noises can be heard after getting water from the door dispenser. The noise should not last longer than 7 seconds.
A snapping sound will be heard about 4 seconds after removing a glass from a dispenser. This is the sound of the dispenser chute closing.
A clicking noise may be heard after a power shortage. This stems from the compressor trying to re-start itself. The noise could last for 3 to 5 minutes.
A hissing, sizzling, buzzing, or arching noise may be heard on self-defrost models. This is produced when water drips on defrost heaters.
I hope this helps. Lisa from GE Appliances. Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GE 15.5 cf Refrig I had this Refrig installed in a motorhome and am very pleased with its utility and appearance. I purchased the Refrig online sight unseen and it is a great looking Refrig. Very happy. August 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rusted Door within a week I purchased this refrigerator at the end of 2015 and within a week the door had rust pits on it. I went back to the appliance dept and told them of the problem. The employee at the appliance desk said usually it happens more like 2-3 weeks and he did not help me. The rust pits became much worse over the next few months so I wrote to customer service who said I only had a 60 day mfg warranty even if I made a complaint within a week at the store. Customer service did let me know what product to use to get rust out.. junk! July 12, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice fridge but please be aware that there is am adhesive blue plastic protective film all over the stainless areas that needs to be removed. It is a MAJOR pain to remove and the delivery men did not mention it. (In my book they should help remove it!) While the delivery men (3 of them) were nice they were in a hurry (or so they said) and tried to convince me not to switch the door swing as requested with my order, because they said it would hit the wall and only allow a foot of space to reach in when the door was open. I prevailed and in fact they were very WRONG! It worked fine and did not hit the wall or stop the door from opening fully. But the sticky blue film is a real issue because it is installed under the door handles etc and when no one told us about it we assumed the door was scratched and marred. Nothing mentioned about the film in the GE product booklet! I called Home Depot so I could understand what was going on and the customer service rep said, "I don't know why they don't mention it, but they should." Had to use a razor blade to cut the film neatly around the hinges and the handle. It was actually tucked underneath! October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Solid Purchase I love our new fridge. It was extremely affordable. We have a very old vintage kitchen and this fridge really brought our kitchen to life and helped it look more sleek and current. My home depot did not have this fridge in stock, so the customer service desk helped me order it online. It was a breeze and they delivered on time. In and out--- the guys were total pros! I will definitely consider purchasing appliances from Home Depot again strictly based on how easy it was! September 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent compact refrigerator I received this fridge recently and it's perfect for my needs. I needed a smaller fridge to fit into a small area and this was one of the few in stainless steel that fit the bill. One thing I was concerned about was some people mentioning it being loud and making strange noises, but mine is very quiet. It made some noise the first day when it was first plugged in, but since it reached temperature it's been extremely quiet. The first day it did also make some weird popping, gurgling, noises a couple of times, but again, since it's reached temperature it's been virtually silent. Something I noticed was the lack of a temperature control knob in the freezer. (Unless I'm missing it somewhere, but I don't think so) I was a little concerned about it, but so far everything has remained frozen without issue. I love the wide space on the side doors and the thick secure bar that keeps everything secure. My previous fridge was much more flimsy in this area. Lastly, the two guys that delivered it was wonderful. Super nice guys, very professional and extremely careful and conscientious removing my old appliances and bringing the new ones in. All in all a great purchase and I'm very pleased. September 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks and works great This refrigerator was delivered on time, it had a stainless steel front and black rear. The inside is roomy, just can't have anything tall on top shelf in the middle, casing on ceiling of fridge drops kind of low. August 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by GE Refrigeratot There is an issue with the product as the freezer door automatically opens if the lower door closes too hard. There was an instance where the freezer defrosted and leaked water in the kitchen due to the door remaining open for too long. In fairness the issue that I am having may be due to a slope in the floor although the floor seems level. August 2, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by freezer condensation Purchased this frig two weeks ago because it was one of the only one's that could fit in our kitchen's cutout. Got cold quickly. Fits a decent amount of food for the size. Since day one the freezer has had condensation droplets forming around the top edges. They collect at the bottom and freeze. GE says they are going to send a technician to look at it next weekend. July 12, 2016
