Howdy dd,
This is super easy to use. Just use a screwdriver and open the plug. Next you will cut and strip the insulation from the wire. Then wind the wire and trim the excess. Finally screw the plug back together.
You can do's easy.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent plug Other reviewers have complained that the plug did not make a good electrical connection to the cable wires. As suggested by the manufacturer’s Tech Support, these reviewers may have been trying to attach to cables that the plug is not designed for. The intended cable sizes are listed on the plug package. I easily installed one plug on a #16/2 SJT (round) cord, which is listed on the package. I also successfully installed two of the plugs on two #18/2 SVT round vacuum cleaner cords. This cord size is not listed on the package. Since it is a bit smaller diameter cord, I shrunk three short pieces of heat-shrink tubing onto the cord to fill in the space between the cord and the plug but, this is not necessary. With respect to the plugs making an electrical connection to my #18/2 cords, one plug connected perfectly. The other plug’s connector teeth did not bite through the insulation of the #18 wires. I easily remedied this by cutting a tiny bit of the insulation off each wire where the tooth had dented the insulation, being careful to not cut any of the copper strands. I used an ohm meter to test for continuity from each prong of the plug to one of the conductors at the other end of the cord. A nice feature of this plug is its small size, almost as small as an OEM molded-on plug. If the other reviewers insist upon a screw terminal plug, they are going to have to accept a bulkier plug. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not easy would not work Could not get it to close on wire...rather use posts. I am an electrician and couldn't use it. April 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service - poor product The GE plugs were a piece of garbage. Not sharp enough to penetrate the wires. Into the trash can. However, Home Depot service was FANTASTIC. Quick, free ship to local Home Depot, Email to tell me they were in. Picked them up, staff very professional February 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worthless junk! I would rather have posts that I connect the wires to on my own. The way this is made, after two dozen attempts and following the directions, I have yet to make a connection with the wires that provides electricity to the device I am trying to use this with. Had this been made where I just connect the wires myself to two posts or screws, I would have been done on the first attempt and saved myself 40 minutes of effort with no success. March 18, 2014
