The old spring shutoff switch opened the circuit when it timed out. If this is a electronic one does it keep drawing power when it is off.

Answer:
Hello G and thank you for your question.
You will need to use a small flat blade screwdriver to gently pry off the front cover plate of the in-wall timer from the main unit of the GE 15 Amp Single-Pole 60-Minute Auto Shutoff Timer (Model # 1508). For your protection, please turn off the correct breaker before working on the installed timer.
Complete instructions can be found in the manual located here: Read More

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent timer The timer is better than some of the reviews suggest. It has two wires, red and black, that must be correctly wired. Study the skimpy, unintuitive, directions carefully, draw a wiring diagram for yourself, and pay attention to which wire goes where during the connection work. It is a neat timer, looks nice, and has a very clean looking snap on face. I use mine every day and am satisfied completely with its operation. September 22, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by wire it correctly! if you wire this incorrectly it will not work correctly (surprise!). there are 3 wires: neutral, hot and load. if you mix up hot and load it will never shut off. if you wire it correctly, it works just fine. GE needs to add this info to the instructions - i see a lot of reviews where people complain about this timer not working. October 16, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works fine if you wire it correctly!! The reviews here stating that this timer never shuts off are all incorrect! As long as you hook the line side to the line, and load side to the load, it will work just fine..If you dont know what line and load means, you should have someone install this for you that does! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Electrical Engineer This device does not work.... Even I went back to the store and tried another one.... It did not work period May 30, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waster Timer The timer does not work. It never shuts off and is a waste of money and time. Don't buy it. December 13, 2009
