do you guys haul the old refridgerator away?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Valued Home Depot Customer, Thanks for your question and interest in this item. We will haul away your old refrigerator when we deliver your new refrigerator. Please be sure to disconnect and empty the old appliance before the delivery agents arrive. What’s Included in Free Delivery & Basic Service? All freestanding (does not include built in cooktops, wall ovens, drop ins, window air conditioners, through the wall air conditioner units, etc.) electric appliances will be uncrated, set in place, leveled, tested and connected to an existing proper power source. If proper electrical outlets, gas shut off valves, water supply and shut off valves, or venting sources are not available at the time of delivery, a complete hook up will not be possible. Basic hook up service does not include hook up or removal of built-in appliances such as wall ovens and cooktops, though in some areas consumers can purchase the hook up of gas appliances, dishwashers and over the range microwaves (OTRs/Spacemakers) at an additional charge. The new appliance will be tested to make sure it works correctly. All packing materials will be removed, and your home will be restored to its original condition. Certain complex installs, such as gas appliances and dishwasher installation, may require the purchase of additional services from a certified plumber or electrician. Please contact your local The Home Depot store for additional details in your area. The installation must conform with local codes, or in the absence of local codes, with the National Fuel Gas Code and the National Electrical Code. If you have questions or concerns about your installation, please call our Appliance Support Line at 1-800-455-3869. Thanks.

What is the estimated cost of electricity to operate this refrigerator for a year?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, Chuck - this is Cindy from GE and I’ll be happy to help you with this. The estimated kilowatt usage for this refrigerator is 480 kilowatt hours per year. The DOE equates that to $51 per year. You can determine your approximate cost by multiplying the kilowatts used by what your utility company charges in your area. Thanks for your interest in our refrigerators . . .

Customer Reviews

18.1 cu. ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator in Black is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does the job This is a simple fridge that does the job. Nothing fancy, just keeps my food fresh & cold. It's quite too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from LOUD!!!!!! First off, let me just say this fridge is LOUD. I had read previous reviews and thought how loud could it really be? Our kitchen is in the middle of the house and can be heard in all the bedrooms. It also seems to run all the time. Kinda scared to see the electric bill. The freezer is one big open space, no shelf. So, when you need something on the bottom it's kinda like playing Jenga. Lol I kinda like the wire shelves as I think they will be easy to clean and I do like the shelf in the door that fits a gallon of milk. There is only on bin/drawer and it is very flimsy and doesn't really open. I will probably remove it entirely and replace with plastic basket to separate the fruit from the lunch meat/cheese etc. We replaced our last GE with this one. We didn't see it beneficial to pay to move a 10 yr old fridge to our new home. Must say I liked our older, quieter model better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This refrigerator is a good product at a good price. This refrigerator, a basic model, is what we were looking for and wanted. It is a good size and runs well. We were very happy with the price. Only downside it tends to be loud when running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is great Works great just the size we look good with all other appliances in the kitchen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from suprised at the cheap looking and feeling features inside We opted not to wait for the ice maker on this model as it wasn't in stock and needed a replacement quickly. Was surprised to find out that if there isn't an ice maker, you don't get a shelf either so the freezer space is one large, open area. The lower drawer inside the fridge unit is extremely flimsy and cheap looking and feeling and there are no solid shelves inside, only wire racks which are sometimes hard to balance food items on. Over all not please with what GE has done with this model.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The exterior of the refrigerator is nice. The interior is cheap. The interior of the refrigerator is not very functional. No racks (although there is holder) in the freezer and only 1 rack in the refrigerator. No meat bin and the vegetable fruit bin is one bin that does not slide more than 3 inches out before becoming stuck. It is all cheap plastic. The temperature setting dial is also poorly labeled and there is no cover for the bulb. So from the outside it looks great but open it up and there's not much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from overall a good product this is a decent product the only bad things I see is the drawer is very flimsy and does not open and close well and the motor is a bit noisy, but we have this in the garage so this works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for what it cost. No shelf in freezer. Fridge drawer seems cheap. It works good though especially for the price. Good if you do not want to invest a lot of money, because it does work well.
