Customer Questions & Answers

could i cut the cord down

Asked by: dino
The on/off switch is on the unit. The cord could be cut if you then replace the plug.

does GE sell longer link (jumper) wires to join two separate led light units? for #10492

Im trying to link two under cabinet lights. The issue is the stove in-between the 2 cabinets that I'm trying to link. The link wire that comes with the lights is only about a foot long, not long enough to make the connection from unit to tunic. Is there a longer link/ wire that is available besides the short link that comes with each unit, or could I simply purchase longer electrical wire and splice it together with the shorter connecter that comes with the unit? Thank you
Asked by: Rick
Rick, We apologize, however as all of our linkable fixtures are UL listed, the fixtures and cords must comply with the safety standards set for them. To ensure safe usage, there are no longer lengths available and they cannot be modified or fabricated. Should a distance be longer than 18 inches be necessary, then a new run of lights would need to be started. Jasco Products Tech Suport(Manufacturer) phone number: 1-800-654-8483 option 1

What do you do if the lights flash

Asked by: Fixxit
If the fixture is flashing when turned on then it would need to be exchanged. There is no reason that the fixture would flash when dimming the light up or down. Jasco Products Tech Support (Manufacturer)

Can these lights be hard wired? And if so, can they be left on high and then dimmed from a switch?

Asked by: castel
You can hard wire the lights to the home electrical system using a direct wire junction box model number 24772. Unfortunately they can only be controlled by an on/off switch since each fixture has a dimmer knob. Jasco Products Tech Suport(Manufacturer) phone number: 1-800-654-8483 option 1

18 in. Linkable LED Under Cabinet Light Fixture with Full Range Dimming is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful light I needed more light in my kitchen . We moved into a house that was built in 1994 and only had 1 overhead light in the kitchen. So my husband installed 4 of these fantastic lights under the cabinets in my kitchen and the light output is phenomenal. I'm a cook and I need a lot of light and now I have it. These lights also have a linking feature where one will link up to another without so many cords hanging down. If you need a lot of light, these are the lights for you, and oh I forgot to mention they dim also, but for me.....why would you do that?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did the job I was looking for a replacement for an under-cabinet over-sink light to replace an older fluorescent tube no longer manufactured. I initially bought a much cheaper LED fixture but the light was totally inadequate. Based on the estimated lumens displayed, I guessed this lamp should be almost as bright as a 60 watt CFL and it was. I was also concerned that it would not throw enough light to the sides of the sink to illuminate the some of the counter space there as the old lamp did, but it does throw adequate light to the sides as well. I use the dimmer control to leave the lamp as a kitchen night light at the lowest setting. Pretty basic keyhole slot install. If the bottom of the cabinet is thin, screws might come through a bit, but have to be screwed in tightly enough to slide the fixture onto the screws and hold it firmly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Bright, nice full range dimmer I bought 3 different ones to compare, the Hampton Bay (which is now re-branded as Commercial Electric with a different SKU, but it's the SAME product, same power pack), the Juno, and these new ones that weren't even on the shelf but in overstock above. The slimness of the Hampton one is really nice, they're really light, but you'll need to mount the power pack separately in addition to the light strip. The dimmer on that one is OFF-Lo-High, and the 50% power does not look much dimmer than high. Overall the light quality on that one is warm and totally fine. The Juno being the most expensive is probably the largest housing, and the space inbetween the LEDs are quite bit, so you get hot spots. The even ness of the light is warm and dimmer is smooth operating. The GE here, is the brightest of the 3, and, the nicest thing if the dimmer is important, is it truly has a great variance of brightness. In case late at night you just want some ambient light. So for ease of installation and "suits the job", the Hampton Bay one is fine and probably the cheapest, and the GE is the next cheapest and I think because of the dimmer's range, my favorite of the 3 and bypasses the Juno. The Juno has very smooth dimmer action and the warmness of the light is very nice, not harsh and LED looking at all. For my project (one 12, one 18" one 24") the price diff was HB: $147, GE: $192, Juno: $232. Installation is just a screw on the GE (it has keyhole shaped holes on the back of the housing), the Juno uses brackets and seems to have the most intimidating installation.
