We have had this washing machine for about two years and it is already broken. So disappointing. There's only two of us in the house and we do about three loads of laundry a week, so not a lot considering how small this washing machine is, so it by no means should have worn out already. The basket no longer spins so then the water doesn't drain all the way, and because the water's not draining the machine pauses the load every couple minutes. We just have to purchase another one, which is terrible considering washing machines used to last forever.

This is a nice compact washer I installed for a client. It seems soundly built and has nice controls and features. The feet are of hard plastic, if it is housed on any smooth surface the washer will "walk" during the "high" or "super high" speed spin cycle. I did not test "medium" speed spin. I have added rubber feet to the front of the unit to eliminate the traveling problem. Note the door is hinged on the left and is not reversible. The door to the matching dryer is delivered hinged on the right but is reversible.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GooWee Only if it is the only one that will fit.
I had another GE that failed but was built in under a marble counter. This was the only one I could find that would fit the vacant space. GE is not making them as good any longer. Quality is lacking ......knobs are plastic inside and break easily. However this new one is working good ..... just smaller than I would have liked. I really don't think they want them to last very long ......!!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Skip Very Happy
I have had these machines about 2 weeks now and I'm happy with them so far. I will be honest I liked my old washer and dryer better. The washer died on me and it would have cost almost as much to repair it as buying a new machine. I live in Boston so size was a big factor. The washer is great, it doe's full size loads no problem. The dryer is ok but my old dryer would run circles around the new one. It does work but takes about 20 minutes longer to dry the same amount of cloths and don't bother with the dampness sensor, it turns off the dryer to soon. I just use the timer and allow for a little more time. It does do what it's suppose to do, it just takes longer. Over all I'm happy and would recommend them.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Washerless Very bad design or broken washer.
This thing just doesn't work. Tried about 5 loads and all were wet still (no towels even). Had a GE tech come and said nothing was wrong. (Try doing a load of clothes and not just run some diags). Called Home Depot back and told them to come and get it. They agreed and will be processing full refund. No fault of theirs but they should stop selling this model.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NewHomeowner Great Product
My old washing machine died and I had to replace it with a front end loader to fit in the cabinet where my washer and dryer are located. The available options were limited, given the size limitations of the cabinet. This model was more expensive than my previous model, but is of much higher quality and gets the clothes cleaner. It is not very big but will hold everything in my house except for my comforter. Overall, this is a solid product.

I bought this compact GE front loader to replace a 15 year old compact top loading machine in my apartment. I haven't used it enough to comment about energy efficiency or quality for that matter, but it is very quiet, and has at least 50% more capacity than the machine it replaced.
