Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. I'm sorry; however, this refrigerator does not accept an internal water filter. However, the good news is that you can easily add an In-Line Water Filter on the back of the refrigerator water line just before the water line goes into the refrigerator. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

The water valve on most GE refrigerators is near the bottom of the back of the refrigerator. Some models have the valve on the right when viewing the refrigerator from the back, and some models have the valve on the left when viewing the refrigerator from the back.

Answer:
Hi-this is Sue from GE. Thanks for your interest in our GE 20.2 cu. ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator in GDSS0KCXSS.
The height to the top of the case is actually 65 3/4". The height including the hinge on the top of the door is 66 1/2". We do not offer a two door bottom freezer model less than 66 1/2" including the hinge.
I hope this model will work for you. Thanks for checking with us.

Will items in the lower portion of the refrigerator freeze?

This question is from 20.2 cu. ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator in White

Model # GDSC0KCXWW. In reading the recent reviews from 2013 on this model, it sounds like this is still an issue. I read an answer from 1 month 2 weeks ago that this problem would not occur in a new unit. I also read in another answer that the freezer has baskets. The reviews indicate only one basket. Can you clarify these items?
Thanks,
Robin from PA

Answer:
Hello Robin,
This is Joyce from GE. I will be happy to help. Our GDSC0KCXWW is an excellent model! This model will have one basket in the freezer section. Cold air coming into the fresh food section originates in the freezer. The rear of the top shelf will be the coldest spot in the fresh food area.
Thanks so much for your question. Have a good day!

20.2 cu. ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator in White is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from GE Refrigerator I just received this refrigerator yesterday, and I couldn't be happier. It is beautiful! Love the stainless steel finish with the "no finger print" option. I had a small space to fit and it fit perfectly thanks to the salesman @ Home Depot that helped me. It is well lit in the upper part of the refrigerator and has very wide drawers in the door. I love the clear glass so you can see right into the crispers. It is very roomy. The slide out freezer is smaller than I expected, but it works for a small family. It is lit also. One of the best features of this refrigerator is that it is so quiet I can hardly hear it run! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fridge for a kitchen with limited space ! We needed a fridge that fit into our tight space. This was the nicest and largest. The stainless steel front is beautiful. The gray sides add to the rich look. It runs very quiet and less often than our older GE. The top fridge section is designed very well. The glass shelves are easy adjustable. The lighting is bright. The shelves on the door are very deep, adjustable and hold a very large amount of items. Plenty of space. The freezer is somewhat smaller than expected, but one must organize and stack items not just drop stuff in. The freezer makes ice in no time. It also has a very bright light so finding things are a snap. We have had it about a month now and we are very pleased so far. This is a beautiful practical SS fridge without all the fancy in door features, yet it does the job and doesn't look cheap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good appliance So far have been very happy with this refrigerator, plenty of space (moved up from 18.5 cuft) very good lighting, quiet, lots of storage in the door. Bottom freezer has more room than appears at first. Well lit also. A little disappointed in the color match on the sides, stainless steel front, the gray paint on sides is a little dark, but a minor point. Stands out more when sides are exposed. Delivery and "take away" service was excellent!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Glitch in design causing food in refrigerator to freeze We were quite happy with this unit when we first took delivery, but within days it was apparent that food items placed on the bottom shelf, particularly in the back of the refrigerator, were freezing. We had the setting for both refrigerator and freezer at 5, as recommended. The repair team determined that the seal at the back of the refrigerator, separating the freezer compartment, needed to be reinforced to prevent the freezing air from spilling into the lower part of the refrigerator. We opted to have the unit replaced. The second unit froze food in the same way, and we are returning it and going to a different brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome refridgerator, we love it. We have had the fridge for about a year now. It is great. The freezer seemed a little small by the looks at first, but we were amazed the amountt of food that fit into it. A lot of people complained about the loud ice maker, so we were expecting it to be loud. It was definitely not as loud as stated in others. Very happy with this fridge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 20.2 Cu. Ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator I bought this refrigerator / freezer for the following reasons: 1) minimize overall space requirement, 2) maximize access to refrigerator without bending down, 3) slide-out freezer, and 4) energy efficiency. It fully satisfies these objectives, and I would highly recommend this refrigerator / freezer to anyone looking for same features. In additionan, a comparsion of external to internal volume shows that this refrigerator / freezer is more compact than other units in the same class.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean & Efficient! We bought multiple appliances in the GE CleanSteel group. This is the refrigerator. We have space limits in our kitchen, so this model gives us flexibility for placement into a pantry to free up floor space for cabinets. It doesn't lack in storage space, though. We have plenty of room in there and it lights up very well, so you can see what you have hiding in the back. Love the CleanSteel look and upkeep. We have two young kids so hands/fingers are everywhere! Easy to clean. Temp controls are easy to operate. Shelving and door cubbies are easily moved to fit your needs. Freezer on the bottom is great, too. I ran the water line for the ice maker myself. All you need, including self-tapping compression valve come with the appliance. The is high on the energy-efficiency side, costing about than $2/month to operate. Amazing. This meets the IRS Energy Star tax credit guideline, so I will get to deduct some of this purches next year.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Design The layout of this refrigerator seems designed to minimize the available space. The shelves cannot be adjusted below a certain point, so it is impossible to store 2 liter bottles on the top shelves without removing a shelf. The handles on the drawers are at the bottom which makes it difficult to open the drawers with anything in your hands. The design includes many curved surfaces which limits the storage capacity of drawers and the butter shelf. The large bins in the door seem to hold more than the main shelves. The temperature control/light are up front and make placing tall items in the center of the top shelf impossible. It appears that the GE designers thought that anyone purchasing a bottom mount refrigerator must be short by forcing the lower shelves to provide the most usable space. We like bottom mount freezers because it's easier to get at every day items. This design negates much of that advantage. The high pitched whine of the compressor is much quieter than our old unit. We have only had this refrigerator for a couple of weeks, so we don't know how energy efficient it is. Very disappointed with the design. Should have bought the LG.
