Answer:
You set it to turn on and off in 30 minute increments. In other words, for each half hour, you can set it to be either on or off. Each half hour is separately controlled, so you can have it turn on and off every half hour, all day and all night.

In thirty minute increments. You just set the hours it will run by pushing the 30-minute consecutive increments it will turn on or off.

Too loose and the timer will cause them to slide on the dial. Hope this helps. Read Less

Answer:
This unit does not use trips. The picture doesn't make it obvious, but the wheel has 48 little plastic levers all around the outside of the dial that can be pushed up or down. You can control it in half hour increments, and have it turn on or off every 30 minutes. Each half our period of time has a separate switch, and is independent of other switches.

Answer:
The answer to your questions is yes. This timer can be set up for 115V, 230V, 288V. The actual voltage to those is actually 230V. You made need to check the amperage rating. Set the dip switches for 230V.

Answer:
You need to match the application not the sku. You need to as for a 115V mechanical timer is all. Good luck I use to think these were reliable I am finding out differently. GE is the main maker. Your # may be an old obsolete sku. Start over match the application re: requirements of the purpose in mind.

Rated 2.1 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does not keep time I really like how you can choose on and off times, but this thing does not keep time. After a week or so it is more than an hour off, and needs to be reset on a regular basis. May 7, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by stoped working after 1.5 years Resistor ladder changes voltage... lame approach to a powersupply for its electronics, and this resistor seems to have failed this is the only dpdt timer i could find though, so i will fix it or buy another , in the mean time i have pressed the 40 year old one it replaced back into service (but can't run my hottub be cause it is simply dpst) April 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Low quality timer I bought this timer Dec 29th 2012 to use on my hot tub to reduce the number of hours it would run in the hopes of saving some electricity. Not too sure I ever saw any reduction in power consumption, as i the hot tub would use just as much power reheating the cooler water which resulted from the reduced time power was available to it. BUT, here it is July 20, not even 7 months after installation of the timer, and it will not longer power on, manually or via the timers power switch. So it's not looking like a quality unit. July 20, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never again Bought this "timer" to run my outdoor lights. Switches on and off great, problem is that it can't keep time! Kind of pointless when the "timer" is off 1 hour for every 24 hours it runs! October 30, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I am not convinced I went to the old standard for reliability. I have to readjust it every day to get my water heater to come on. If I wanted to turn on my water heater every day I don't need a timer. I t seems like when it clicks off the timer stops too. Am I missing something here. Maybe. I am certain it is wired properly. The timer is goofy for some reason. It just does not work good. October 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for Water Heater This timer was easy to install & very flexible in scheduling times. I've had timers for years. You will save 15-20% on electric bill. Also insulate tank & check thermostat temps. My background is a mechanical contractor. If you are not electrical savory, you might want to get someone who is install it for you. The ROI (return on investment) is well worth the cost. December 11, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Did not last long Mine did not last long. After only over a year, it would still power up but would no longer turn on/off my pool pump. I am switching back to mechanical box timers. December 31, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This is a good product. So far so good.I have this item doing things the maker does not know how to do. June 5, 2013
