I really like how you can choose on and off times, but this thing does not keep time. After a week or so it is more than an hour off, and needs to be reset on a regular basis.

Resistor ladder changes voltage... lame approach to a powersupply for its electronics, and this resistor seems to have failed
this is the only dpdt timer i could find though, so i will fix it or buy another , in the mean time i have pressed the 40 year old one it replaced back into service (but can't run my hottub be cause it is simply dpst)

I bought this timer Dec 29th 2012 to use on my hot tub to reduce the number of hours it would run in the hopes of saving some electricity. Not too sure I ever saw any reduction in power consumption, as i the hot tub would use just as much power reheating the cooler water which resulted from the reduced time power was available to it. BUT, here it is July 20, not even 7 months after installation of the timer, and it will not longer power on, manually or via the timers power switch. So it's not looking like a quality unit.

Bought this "timer" to run my outdoor lights. Switches on and off great, problem is that it can't keep time! Kind of pointless when the "timer" is off 1 hour for every 24 hours it runs!

I went to the old standard for reliability. I have to readjust it every day to get my water heater to come on. If I wanted to turn on my water heater every day I don't need a timer. I t seems like when it clicks off the timer stops too. Am I missing something here. Maybe. I am certain it is wired properly. The timer is goofy for some reason. It just does not work good.

This timer was easy to install & very flexible in scheduling times. I've had timers for years. You will save 15-20% on electric bill. Also insulate tank & check thermostat temps. My background is a mechanical contractor. If you are not electrical savory, you might want to get someone who is install it for you. The ROI (return on investment) is well worth the cost.

Mine did not last long. After only over a year, it would still power up but would no longer turn on/off my pool pump. I am switching back to mechanical box timers.
