We like the look, layout and features of the refrigerator, other than the water dispenser is really slow. Our problem was that 3-4 months after purchase, the liner in the freezer cracked (10 inches long by 1/16 inch wide). Initial contact with customer service was easy and good. Service technician came to house, seemed very knowledgeable, and said the liner couldn't be repaired and that GE would call to arrange delivery of replacement unit. After a week we had to call them, and then they said it was cosmetic damage only and wouldn't be covered under warranty. After multiple phone calls, I was unable to convince them it was a defect in materials or workmanship and not just cosmetic, though I'm not sure how a crack in the freezer liner is not a defect. It seems like the liner is there for a reason: to keep the cold in. So the refrigerator is working harder to maintain temperature, which is costing us more to run and most likely shortening the life of the refrigerator. GEâs only offer since it was "cosmetic" was that we could purchase a replacement unit for 10% of original cost or extend our warranty (which is apparently worthless) a year. So, we recommend you pick another brand.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0Â by Bythesea I've had this refrigerator for 5 years now
I always appreciate when a reviewer will write a review after they've owned an appliance for a good amount of time. If I were writing a review anytime during my first year of ownership, I could tell you that this product was a satisfactory purchase.
It was after 3 years when things ceased to work correctly. The first thing I noticed was after a year. We had a very hot summer and for some reason it caused everything I placed in the back of the fridge to freeze. I had to be careful to only store items in the front as close to the door as possible.
The next thing that went was the ice dispenser. I can't put a cup under the dispenser and expect ice to come out. So now I have to reach in and pull out the ice drawer or keep a container of ice on a shelf cutting down on shelf space. This is really a pain. Water drips from my water dispenser all the time even if the catch tray below isn't full. I am constantly mopping up the puddle.
The other thing I find irritating is that the price of the water/ice filter went up considerably. I use to pay $35. for the filter and now it costs almost $70.00.
As I now find these problems really annoying, I will be buying a new fridge and it won't be a GE. Quite possibly the higher end GE models are better made, but I am not willing to take that gamble. I bought an extended warranty, but things went after it had expired. I hope this helps others who are faced with buying a fridge. It was fine at the beginning, but it should last more than 5 years. Problems started after 3 years.

Nice looking but unfortunately it is ridiculously loud...especially for the price point. I called service out regarding noise and simply "condenser noise"

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Poor Bin Design
I purchase my frig two months ago and decided the bins are very hard to slide out. Engineering design was poor, too hard to pull and push bins. Also the bin handled is flimsy and eventually will crack or fail due to the pressure required to move bin. Also the door storage bins will pop-out off the door track if bumped and spill contents. This design is also very poor. Instead of looking at price I should of paid more attention to these features
