This refrigerator has met all the requirements I expected from GE. My previous model was a side by side and is still working fine. After installation was complete it took approximately 4 hrs to reach freezer temp of 0 degrees 37 for refrigerator. Following manufacturers guide for ice maker helps really the water taste better. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase. More space than I expected the lighting is awesome. The sliding tray for water or ice is an added plus feature that comes in handy for filling pitchers of water. The drip that some complain about is really not an issue for my household. Thanks GE for a wonderful product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by KF28 Great Product (with a little adjusting)
- I love the door shelves. It has small shelves perfect for cans of soda and small bottles of condiments.
- There is plenty of room on the regular shelving.
- The right side shelf will slide back to allow for taller items.
- The filter is inside and much easier to change than our old fridge - it was behind it.
- The extra ice maker in the freezer is great for times we have extra people in the house.
- The bottom drawer is not split like the top drawer. Most of the time, we get into only one side of the bottom and if it were split we would only need to open one door allowing for less cold air to escape.
- The ice dispenser needs work...
<The cubed ice shoots out very quickly often bouncing out of the cup and onto the floor.
<The crushed ice always sprays ice outside the cup. Even when you hold the cup as high as possible, ice still manages to miss the cup.

This is the first French door style refrigerator I have owned. The freezer drawer is very roomy but, a little awkward to bend over and reach into. The double doors are nice to access the refrigerator but, also awkward to open both to access the bottom drawer. I like the large storage in the door for milk, juice and other large items but, storing smaller condiments must be done on the main shelves due to overall limited door space. I use about 3 quarts of dispensed ice every morning and have yet had to utilize the lower icemaker. The refrigerator is a bit noisy and I have not been able to determine if it is the compressor, fan or what it making the noise. I was unable to view the product in store before purchasing and was not sure how I would like it. I am presently surprised. It met my expectations.
The online purchase from Home Depot was outstanding. Delivered within a couple of days from ordering and the delivery crew was exceptional.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Works great, looks great
It is expensive, but it is incredibly worth it. I have had it for about a month and had no problems. I did not shut the freezer all the way, and it frosted up real quick. I just shut the freezer door, worried that it would ice over, and in about an hour there was no more frost. I like how it has two ice-makers, that can be turned on or off individually. It began making ice less than 6 hours after install. Plus it only took the installers 30 mins to install (and they had to remove the door on the unit.
If i could make one complaint, the front doors had some sort of shrink wrap plastic on it (from the factory) that is very hard to remove at the edges where it goes behind the rubber door sills and plastic trim. Otherwise, i love the compliments I get, and all the storage it holds. Really is a great refrigerator.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by fridge Well worth the money!
Tons of space due to freezer in the bottom. The power chill feature is perfect when you get home from the grocery store. The operation of the unit is super quiet and vey easy to open and close even for our little kids.

We bought our refrigerator about a week ago. We chose the model that was slightly less costly and in black because in comparison the only differences I saw was the electric vs digital control pad (electric was the one we went for), and a dual ice maker, one in door and one in bottom freezer, (also in the cheaper one). I read a lot about problems with ice makers in French door bottom freezer refrigerators, so I reasoned that perhaps this was because of the difficultly in making a compact door ice dispenser that is compact enough, and can make enough ice. In my mind a dual ice maker should relieve some of the door burden. Other complaints I heard was noise level. Our last unit was a GE, French door, probably 20-24 cu ft. We also have 2 kids and a man who likes to cook meat. The old one lasted 10 years, and would have kept on though it seemed to be overly hot, and kinda loud, but after husband ground up a popsicle in ice dispenser, by accident, the noise was terrible and we couldn't get ice, so we eventually had to turn the maker off. When we could stand it no more we bought this new, bigger, GE. So far I'm happy! I have ice! Its been making ice in the bottom freezer since Saturday, and we've been able to get it from the door too! We use A LOT of ice. I like the spaciousness of this model. The freezer has a little shelf on the inside of the drawer that's perfect for cans of juice concentrate, and there is plenty of room for meat, and ice packs, and kid stuff! The top is also spacious! I like the rt side door that can hold 2 gallons, or less, with an insert you can use that fits quite nicely. If you have a lot of condiments, like us, not all may fit in that door. My only complaint there is that I wish I could store 4 gallons in the door, but the bins are arranged in such a way that it is difficult, but that is a minor thing, cause once you open the doors there is plenty of room. The left door bins are not roomy at all, but can hold about 4 cans of soda/beer on bottom, top one can hold small jars if not too wide, and the middle can take about 3 small/medium salad dressing bottles. The Fruit and veg drawers are plenty large, and the meat/cheese is too, so in a pinch for space you can move the contents between the three, take the divider out of the long bottom one to store platters. If that doesn't help the rest of the design should! I love that one of the shelves sort of slides up half way to make room for taller items, like wine or champagne, should you need the space temporarily. The noise is certainly better than the old unit, and I'm sure quirks are being worked out as it runs, but only now and then does it get on my nerves because I have strange ears so I sometimes hear what sounds like a phone off the hook. Its the fridge, it doesn't last long, but it makes me stop to pause like a dog, and search for my kids to be sure they weren't playing with a phone. In the first week while the bottom ice maker is filling it can be loud, but what else would you expect? The ice/water in door is nice! I like that I can lock controls to keep my kids from button pushing, and that I can fill a pitcher, but watch out, the water is closer to the front so you may get your feet wet a few times with nice cold water. Another nice feature is the door alarm. My kids have a habit of leaving the door open and our last one got so bad when the fridge part slammed shut the freezer door popped open. Also, let me add the fridge doors have a nice way that you don't have to open one or the other first or to close likewise. There is a bit that folds in and out to make it easier either way. The cost was okay, more than I wanted to spend, even with a discount sale, but for a bigger unit you have to be willing to pay extra. The process of buying and delivery were surprisingly easy, fast, and way on time. In fact they showed up so early I was almost annoyed, but they got in, moved the old one out, without needed a hand truck, which was nice since I just had the carpets cleaned. We were set up and done in 30 mins. Everyone was nice, friendly, so it was a good experience. I hope this GE last as long as the last, if not longer. Since there should be no risk of popsicles accidently falling into the ice bin, I have high hopes. Oh, one last thing. Whats with the plastic? It was shrink wrapped to protect the finish, but getting it off was a trial. I had to use a utility knife carefully under the seam, then with a dull edge scrape (something that wont scratch) it out so plastic tufts didn't poke out. So, to sum up, if you want a bigger refrigerator that has French doors and a bottom freezer, and you use a whole lot of ice, this is good unit. However, I've only had it for 4 days so take it as you will. I will edit if there are changes. Thank you!

Love everything about this frig except for the long drawer which can only be opened if both doors are open. Otherwise, it's very roomy, bright, and nicely designed.

Took weeks comparing refrigerators and this one is by far the best value. Works great, no problems as of now, but only had it for a week.
