Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rc GE vs LG French door refrigerators
Quality is not not as good as our previous LG French door refrigerator. The true test will be how long this refrigerator runs, our LG refrigerator only made it for 3 years.

So awful! We bought this fridge on Black Friday 2015 and had it shipped in February 2016 [for our home that we are building.] It arrived damaged - the left door was smashed in at the top. After calling GE I got someone to come out, it was a week before they finally came, then another week before they came back to install the new door. Fast forward to April [now], we finally turn it on [because we're setting it for the new house.] Days into it being on it's making such loud noises. Like a clanky cranking noise. It doesn't last more than a minute, but it's really, really loud. It literally hadn't been on more than a week. My contractor says it's making an additional noise recently, as well [he's there much more than I am.] So we've turned it off. Going to call GE today. Seems like people have had terrible, terrible experiences. This is our first home and thus my first fridge, I really hope they can fix it before we move in. Oh and on top of it, it's discontinued now! Hah!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by NYgirl What a disappointment
We have had this product for a little over a year and we are not very happy. Good thing it comes with a second ice maker because the one in the door is ALWAYS jammed so it does not fill up and the ice that is in there won't dispense. About 3 months after purchasing it, it just shut down slowly and it was 7 days to get a repairman here. Luckily that time flipping my breaker reset it, and it seemed fine. Then a few months later the ice maker broke and they had to come defrost it, and the tech told me that is a common problem. Just after our 1 year warranty expired I noticed a bunch of other problems. My cheese drawer is set to the warmest of the settings, yet everything in it is freezing, but the products in the fridge itself aren't very cold at all. I noticed that my milk and lunch meat were spoiling rather quickly, only to realize that I have the fridge set to 37 but the actual temp is very rarely that cold (it is currently at 57, and that is up from 54 a few hours ago. Such a disappointment especially because all of my appliances for our brand new house that we built are GE...if you purchase any GE product I suggest getting the extended warranty.

We plugged it in August 22,2015 and by November 19, 2015 it quit completely! It took someone 7 days to come repair it. Parts had to be ordered. Another week! Now the motor is shot. They aren't coming back until December 14th. A month without a refrigerator over the holidays! I want a new refrigerator. They have not offered me one to use in the meantime. I am very disappointed in their customer service and their product. I wish I had read reviews first.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Salena DO NOT buy this LEMON
Save your money! We purchased this fridge 4 weeks ago and it hasn't cooled properly nor made hardly any ice in the top or bottom ice makers. Home Depot has an awful return policy on refrigerators. You only have 48 hours! The fridge barely has time to get 100% cool and it's not enough time to know if it's going to work right. We have had 2 repairmen out already and there is a KNOWN problem by GE on this model. It has something to do with the cooling fan. So we bought a defective product right out the gate unknowingly to us and Home Depot and GE refuse to do anything besides "fix" the repair. We will never again make a huge appliance purchase from Home Depot.

As Selena said in her review, there are known defects with this unit. They will not tell you this when they are selling it to you. You will get a request for a service call, that's if you register it, and then they'll come out and change out the fan and motherboard. The interior temperature will fluctuate between 35-68 degrees. If you do not open your fridge for a day or two, your food may have been exposed to temps way above normal and not even know it because it already dropped back to a normal range. If you are lucky you won't lose a fridge full of food or start a lab experiment. I purchased 14 of these units for a project and everyone had to be serviced. The dishonesty of GE and their vendors to sell this product without notifying the consumer is despicable.

Less than two months after purchase it completely died. I called GE and it took them five business days to get a tech out to fix it. The problem was a common issue (circulation fan).

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Alice Nice fridge but EXTREMELY noisy
We bought our fridge in April to replace our old GE and love how spacious it is. However, it is INSANELY noisy. It's driving me absolutely crazy. This amount of noise is not normal for a fridge. We need to replace other appliances too but now I'm not sure if I want to purchase other GE products. I've been telling friends who are renovating their kitchens to stay away from this fridge.
