The cut out in our cabinet is 25 1/4 inch wide x 28 1/2 inch tall x 24 1/2 inch deep. Will this unit fit and will the unit trim cover the gaps?

Hi Dave-this is Sue from GE Appliances. Yes, the oven is designed to be installed in a 27" wide cabinet. The approximate cutout dimensions are 25-1/4W (max.) x 28-1/8H (max.) x 23-1/2D (min.) What are the advantages/disadvantages of convection oven vs.standard electric oven

This question is from 27 in. Single Electric Wall Oven Standard Cleaning with Steam in Stainless Steel

most reviews on almost all brands mention loud fan noise and hot air venting into the kitchen. Is this a standard safety feature on all new ovens? And would convection ovens generally have more fan noise than the standard electric oven? Do some ovens come with both convection and standard electric where you choose between the two depending on what you are cooking?

Hi-this is Sue from GE.
Convection bake heat comes from the third element which is located around the fan located in the rear of the oven. The convection fan circulates this heated air evenly, over and around the food. Food are baked exceptionally in and around bakeware to completely envelop foods. Convection Bake is ideal for evenly browned baked foods cooked on multiple shelves, and great for large quantities of baked goods. Achieve good results with cookies, biscuits, muffins, cream puffs, bread, angel food cake, and more. With conventional bake, only the bake (lower) and broil (upper) heating elements are used to supply the heat. On convection models, you can choose either to Convection Bake or Conventional Bake. There is very little noise difference between convection bake and conventional bake.
Wall Ovens are vented through a vent tube under the control panel. They are not equipped to be vented to the outside. Also, the oven-cooling fan for the electronic controls on the ovens are controlled by a thermostat. The cooling fan may run throughout the entire bake cycle and continue for a short period even when the oven is off. This is considered normal operation.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GE 27 in. Single Electric Wall Good product for the money. Excellent temperature regulation. Lacking in features such as : 1)can only turn on light by opening door. 2)Can't use or see clock or other features once you set timer. Takes a few minutes longer to warm up than my previous model due to coils embedded under base of oven March 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great oven. Beautiful appliance. Had to get use to the even cooking compare to my 1980 range but it was a smooth transition. The timer was different also in that i had to learn yhat u van set it for 10 hrs, not 10 min. My husband burnt his batch of cookies thinking he had set for 8min. August 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GE Single Oven We just had this oven installed and so far so good. It looks nice and is easy to operate. Preheat takes a while compared to my old oven but other than that, no complaints. February 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Economical Choice in the Small catagory This oven is a significant upgrade from my very old ~20 inch oven it replaced. It does not have many bells and whistles but what it does do it does well. The oven does take a while to pre-heat, again compared to my previous smaller oven, but not outrageously so. The display lets you know it is pre-heating and it does beep when done. This is not a loud beep, but it is audible. The settings are easy to change, and intuitive to figure out. I have only had the oven about 1 month, but so far it is working well. It heats very evenly. The internal light is bright (but only turns on when the door is opened-at least a little) and well placed. Overall I am happy with this oven and look forward to much baking and cooking. January 7, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So far so good The GE oven was 1/4" wider than the GE oven I replaced so I had to cut the opening to make it fit. When I tested it, it took 20 minutes to heat up to 450. Is this normal? I don't like that you have to open the door to get the light to come on. Over all seems to work well. January 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement for 40+ year old GE Oven I had the GE oven that was installed in my home when I built it 44 years ago. My original oven was still in good working condition but I was remodeling my kitchen and needed a stainless oven. My challenge was to find a 27" oven to fit in modified existing cabinets in a reasonable budget. My new GE oven met my needs. September 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by What. No oven light! This unit replaced a 23 year old unit, so I'm hopeful that the reliability will be as good. However. Theres no switch to turn on the oven light. It does come on when you open the door, but for baking that's not adaquate. October 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Replacement Oven I bought this oven over a month ago and love it! It replaced my original GE wall oven dated back in the 60's!!! The only part I had to redo was the electrical outlet because it cracked when I took it out of the wall. Super easy to install and would highly recommend. I thought it would be difficult to replace because of the size and age of the unit but it fit right in! September 30, 2016
