CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 315 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Wait & See We first purchased a Maytag but returned after 2 weeks due to excessive noise. We picked this dryer due to the fact that we didn't want to spend alot of money (it was more than the Maytag) and don't care for all the computer type dryers with all the bells and whistles that now seem to be the norm. Anyway, a day after the installation the dryer started making a scraping sound, seems if you hold the side in or the door in the noise stops... So we'll have to wait and see what happens with this one. All I can say is that they don't make ANYTHING to last these days. May 11, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Features I had the dry installed and used it on the same day and thus far it appears to be working ok, however, I noticed a few things that concern me. The dryer is either a buzzing or humming sounds which is kind of loud and the lint collector is kind of flimsy, for the cost of the dryer I was expecting a better product, the original dryer in the house performed better and it was well over 10 years old. I hope that GE will take the time to address the issues in the reviews May 2, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Dryer This dryer is efficient and clothes come out nice a fluffy (as my son says) Service and delivery by Home Depot was great. April 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great Easy install, fires up fast and dries fast. Couldn't be happier. April 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great features for the price GE appears to be the only manufacturer that puts the lint trap in the front door rather than on the top of the unit where the lint gets all over the top of the dryer when cleaning the trap but not on this unit! To us that was important. Only had it a few days and it works great, quiet and has auto dry sensor so for the price it was an excellent choice! April 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Dryer! Quiet dryer! You can fit a lot of clothes in the camber as well! April 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 exactly what I was promised Clean lines, easy to keep clean. Large swing door with easy access lint filter. I love it. April 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Seems as described Delivered and installed yesterday. Required LP conversion, which is quite simple, but accessing the gas valve for the 3 minute component change is ridiculous. This dryer is built from the back forward meaning you cannot remove the back of the dryer to access anything inside. Instead, you must remove the top via 2 screws under the rim where the door seals rest. Then remove the 2 screws that hold the front to the side panels, unplug 4 wires on the lower left side of the front, and then lift the drum to remove the front panel. The gas valve is located at the right front corner of the dryer under the drum. To access the gas valve to change the orifice, install the gas blocker, and the LP air shutter, either you remove the drum or remove the gas valve. I opted to partially remove the gas valve since I had not yet connected to my LP inlet line AND I decided I did not want to deal with the real hassle of releasing the belt from the tensioner which is behind and below the drum, with extremely limited access. At least I know what I'll have to do when the drive belt breaks (remove the top and left side panel). :-/ Connecting to the gas line was another challenge. The pipe from the gas valve to the back of the dryer ended flush with the rear panel and was not centered in the hole. It was touching the top and I had to insert a screwdriver in the pipe to move it down so I could apply pipe sealer to the full circumference of the threads. Unfortunately, this also makes is virtually impossible to access the pipe joint to test for leaks. The pipe and fitting junction rests INSIDE the rear panel and the only way to access that joint to apply leak test solution is to remove the top and right side panel. I chose not to do so, but please, DO NOT do this if you don't have experience installing gas pipe (I do). The 32yr old Kenmore dryer (purchased new in 1983) this one replaced was designed to be serviced and maintained, very much the opposite with this GE (in my opinion). On my old Kenmore, simply remove a dozen or so rear panel screws and the entire back side was open for easy access to any item requiring service. One drive belt and a set of drum rollers was all I ever had to replace in the time we owned it. I can only hope I see that kind of longevity with this new dryer. The dryer works well, is relatively quiet, and my wife is happy to not be hanging clothes on shower rods anymore. :-) May 16, 2015
