Wanted a nightlight that was significantly brighter than the cheap (permanently installed LED) nightlights. The light color is good being just a bit whiter than incandescent. The output is decent and at .5W power consumption is low. I compared this bulb side by side to a 4W incandescent and this LED is just a bit dimmer so I'd say 2-3W equivalent is pretty accurate. However the overall useful amount of light in the room is similar plus these bulbs way outperform the low quality LED nightlights they replaced. A little pricey when you consider the bulb plus a nightlight will cost around $5ea compared to about half that for the cheap ones that get dimmer and become useless with age.

The light is so dim it is worthless. Less than the light of a small candle. I am returning it..

It was a little dimmer than I expected. But my daughter was happy her night was working again, so thats the important thing! It will definitely beat the incandescent bulbs that came with the night light on life and brightness thats for sure.

Performance: these clear LED bulbs are not quite as bright as the 4W clear nightlight bulbs they replace, but almost: estimate about 75% as bright, and the light is pleasing. The 4W clear bulbs in a naked fixture, without a cover, could be pretty piercing in a dark room.
Economy: with my current energy cost, for a nightlight in a dark space that burned 24 hours a day, it cost roughly $10 per year to run with a 4W bulb--not a lot, but I had six of them around the house. Replacing with a 0.5W bulb cuts the cost to one-eighth, or a little over $1 per year for continuous running. Each bulb costs about $2.50 so they pay for themselves in a few months.
Recommendation: these bulbs are excellent value, and the more nightlights you have, the more you save. If I were to purchase again, I would look for the white frosted version (I have seen these in other stores) as the light seems more diffuse with better coverage than the clear. I do not know the model number but I suspect that Home Depot would offer them too.

The light was not as bright as a normal night light and it directed the light up and not in all directions.
