Would give a zero for value. We are replacing this machine after 18 months. We can't afford to continue losing clothing and linens that are chewed up by this washer. I can't believe GE makes a machine that ruins clothes or that Home Depot sells it!
It does something with the clothes so that they are really tightly bunched up when the cycle is done, which makes them deeply wrinkled. The wrinkles do not come out in the dryer. Often t shirts need a touch up with an iron. That really makes me mad! I don't need an appliance adding to my work load!
We bought this at Home Depot along with a dish washer that needed a $225 control panel after 14 months of light service. No more appliances from Home Depot!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by JoeyPete Excellent traditional top load washer
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this washer. I wanted a traditional top load washer and after looking at many brands, I really was drawn to the GE models. It still has some of the "modern" quirks to it like not being able to watch it work with the lid open (there is an easy work around) and the energy efficient standards that are in place today don't allow for true warm or hot water. Cold is cold, warm is luke warm and hot is hot but not steaming like it came out of the faucet. If you don't use the "Power Rinse" mode, it will not fill completely with water during rinse cycle. Hasn't been a problem for me but I could see it being a potential hazard to clothes if it's a large load. Otherwise it's just like any washer from the past decades. It still has a traditional timer instead of electronic controls..something I really like. It's super quiet too, especially during agitation. Many cycles to choose from and they are not extended like some front loaders. I've done large loads in under an hour. Perfect. It does not have a delicates cycle, but I use the light setting on Perm Press on any garments that are delicate and it's worked fine. I would very much recommend this set to anyone, especially anyone not wanting a modern HE washer. I've been a loyal GE customer for years and this washer exceeds my expectations.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by karenkaz whilst it worked it washed well
I had this machine 18 months and the centre agitator snapped. Machine completly useless as would not agitate so could not wash clothes. I had said in the 2 months before this happened that machine was tearing holes in sheets but no one was able to say why. Now this is broke right at the bottom can see its frayed this must of been what was causing the sheets to rip.
The machine is the cheapest option but still think it should last more then 18 months. It was also in rental home so had a few weeks of no use. Hence my rating of 3 for the durability. When machine was working it did wash well but the amount of bedding lost due to tearing and then machine breaking down really outweighs the positives on this model.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by BB9092 LARGE LOAD GREAT, SMALL LOAD NOT SO GREAT
I have owned Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid washers in the past and never had problems like this. My first load was a large load and so were the next several loads and everything was great. Then I washed a set of sheets and pillow cases, when it drained and started the spin it sounded like someone was beating the washer with a hammer. When I got to the washer it was rocking so hard it was lifting off the floor side to side then shut down by itself. I looked inside and the agitator had balled the sheets up and they were on one side which made it unbalanced. I have tried several small load since and had the same results. The washer was leveled before any loads were washed and has been checked numerous times. The only way I can wash is to save items and wait until I have a large load.
