Only had washer for 7 months when it start acting up. When doing hot loads it would only fill with hot water with lid up.As soon as you put lid down all cold came out. At first it would only spray cold to adjust temperature while filling, then it was all cold with lid down.Discovered it while doing towels when water was all cold. Need to call repairman because now it won't fill at all (this after a year ). When I had it on super level it would fill to large level, then only small level. Finally when doing small load it abruptly stopped filling and start agitating. Now won't fill at all. Washer does not get the clothes clean, they come out really wrinkled and the spin dry goes on forever. Worse washer ever!

The agitator tangles up my clothes and has torn them. Not a good design. Can it be replaced?

I bought this product for a number of reasons, and our whole family has been very pleased with it. Call me Old School, but I wanted a "normal" washer -- top-loading, and without the fancy computer board that beeps and talks to you. This washer is just that, only it still has some nice features -- there are lots of settings, such as one for towels and sheets; plus I like the cool water setting -- great for energy savings, and it helps the clothes last longer. Really nice washer for the money, and I feel good that is has the Home Depot name behind it.

Greetings. This machine is anything but efficient. It will fill to only 10" of water on super setting this after having TWO sensors replaced at OUR expense. I would LOVE to speak with someone from GE about this but we can not get anyone to saying anything other than, 10" of water is normal. Except for that very first CS rep who said, 14" of water on super setting.
Alas, we have figured out how to fix it! Set it on Super and put in a half of a full load. It works GREAT this way.

This washer was discontinued, it has been a headache since just over a year old. Have had the circuit board replaced 3 times. The last time the repairman said no more problems. As soon as I washed the first load the same problem!

After my 10 year old HE washer died, I needed a replacement washing machine. I did not need an expensive washer that does everything but cook! I just needed an inexpensive machine to wash clothes. This washer does a good job, and is quiet while washing. I know others complain about the spin cycle being loud; but all machines make some noise, and it is not bad. Since I had a HE machine before, I was used to the auto-fill selection. My new washer fills up to cover the amount of items to be washed, and no more; so that saves water.
I would have rated a five-star, but my only complaint is no end of cycle tone or beep. My other machine had one, so I knew when my wash was done. This machine does not have this feature, and I miss it. But that's no big deal.

I received this on 3/2/2013 and already basin will not agitate. I followed the directions and ran 2 speed cycles then I tried small load with only fabric softener ball inside so I could confirm the tub agitation was working. The fabric softener ball did not move. I should have heard it bang around while basin agitated but no go. Now I have to wait to swap out for another new washer. Hoping the next one won't do the same thing! I had my last GE for 12 years. They don't make them like that anymore.
