I have older 220V dryer (30 amp I believe - runs off double 15A breaker in box) on old disconnect box that broke. I want to replace with new disconnect box. The wiring is 3 wire (2 hots and a neutral - no ground). Can I use this box for this application and if so how do I wire? Straight thru on 3 terminals (black to black, white to white, red to red)? Does it matter which lines go on each terminal? Finally no other part are required (neutral bar, ground kit, fuses, etc.) are required for this application? Thanks for your help.

Does this have a horsepower rating?

I want to use this as a disconnect for a 3.7hp air compressor. It would only be use do cut the power to the machine at the end of the day and not as a switch to turn the compressor motor on and off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes a great power cut off safety switch for my tablesaw. Makes a great power cut off safety switch for my tablesaw. I purchased this product to make my Powermatic 66 tablesaw safe when I am making adjustments to the blade. It works well with the magnetic starter switch, and cuts all power to the saw just like as if I had unplugged it.

I gave the 4-star rating, however, because I had to order a grounding kit separately. The item number for the kit is "TGL1 Equipment Ground Kit,” by the way. I got it off eBay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product. Made in the USA I needed a switch to turn off the electrical power to the water heaters since I had to turn the power off at the Terminal (Circuit Breaker) box whenever I need to repair a water leak*. This switch is the ideal solution. And is made in the USA and by General Electric Corp. * When turing the water off, always turn the electricity off to the water heater.
