My GE appliance was not working from the beginning. After multiple excuses they have found the problem after nearly a year. Responses are slow and excuses are many.

Bought this stove for my elderly mother for Christmas 2012 as her 20 year old Propane oven went belly up during a visit home for Christmas. Selected this oven based on it's price and basic amenities. This oven, as virtually all gas ovens nowadays comes setup for use with natural gas. Had to convert it for use with Propane. Got conflicting instructions from the sales folks on how to convert, but the conversion process is fairly straight forth IF you're handy and good at following the written instructions it comes with. The stove comes with 4 top burner orifices attached at the bottom rear of the stove that must be used to replace the 4 burner orifices on top of the stove if you plan to use the stove with Propane. The regulator must also be adjusted to use with Propane. The conversion process took about an hour - with the help of 2 other men, so it's not for the faint at heart. The top lid of the stove cannot be raised without unscrewing all the sealed burner screws, which I found to be the easiest way to change out the 4 top burner orifices, which is in the center of each burner. Changing out the orifices appears to just allow less gas to come through the burners as the holes in the orifices are about half the size as the ones already installed. I've been told that the stove will smoke or will not burn properly if you skip this required step (to use with Propane).
This stove, like most gas stoves, does not have a traditional pilot light, so it must be plugged into an AC outlet in order for the igniter to light the stove. The oven has a nice small glass to see through with a manual light switch to turn the oven light on or off. No clock, timer or other frills, but it gets the basic job done. The price was right at about $400. Have only used this oven a couple of times personally, but it cooks and bakes well. Best of all though, mom loves it!
