Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jaeger GE 30 in. Single Electric Wall Oven Standard Cleaning with Steam in Black
This was purchased to replace an existing GE oven. Installation was relatively easy, and took about an hour including clean up. Old oven had exposed heating elements; this one has recessed heating elements. Also noted this oven is a lot quieter than the previous one. Oven has preheat, and once hot, holds temperature very well and cooks quickly. Steam cleaning seems to break down and loosen most messes. Overall, a good choice in terms of price, and features. So far, very satisfied with this product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Norton Bakes evenly and consistently, looks good in kitchen
Most of the wall ovens are quite expensive and really all an oven should do is stay as close to the set point temperature as possible. This GE wall oven doesn't have all the "extra" features, but it stays at temperature and costs almost half what most wall ovens cost. One feature that is has is really well thought out, the timer doesn't just chirp once when it goes off, it chirps loudly then softly every ten seconds until you turn it off. Sometimes you just aren't in the kitchen when the timer goes off and you forget. The only feature I am not pleased with so far is the length of time the fan runs after the oven is turned off, but it is not too noisy as some others report. We did have to run it 4 hours at 550 degrees to "bake off" the "new" smell. I installed this oven myself by having the delivery men set the oven on a cart in front of the wall oven opening so I did not have to have anyone help pick it up after connecting the wires I just slid it into place.

This oven is a running joke among my friends and I. No one can believe an oven would be made with a light that only comes on if you open the door!!!!! They think that maybe I am making things up. This oven came with the house we purchased a year ago and we've just recently replaced it because WHO WANTS AN OVEN WITH A LIGHT THAT ONLY COMES ON WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR??????? The final straw was when my son asked if we could do Shrinky Dinks. We most certainly could not because you have to watch them shrink through the door WITH THE LIGHT ON!!!!! We are trying to sell it on Craigslist and I'm hoping to avoid that subject with the buyer. I mean, I've bought cheap ovens (like 1/2 the price) for rental properties before and they had a switch for the light.
Other than the stupid light, I did notice that the oven took FOREVER to pre-heat. I don't recall ever having an oven that took so long.
We replaced the oven with another GE that fits the same wall space, but actually has two separate ovens AND both ovens have a button to turn the light on! Honestly, I cannot believe this oven retails for $1000!! I know some folks are thinking, "well, who cares if the light only comes on when you open the door?". Trust me, you have been warned!!! It will drive you nuts!

I do wish it had a light inside so you could see things while they are cooking. Also, the hit air vents to inside. It really makes the kitchen hot.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ChefTex Great value for money!!
- Looks very good!
- Bakes like a PRO!! Excellent.
- Very simple to operate.
I like everything about the oven, with a few exceptions...
- Worst Con - Cannot switch light on unless you open the door??? Real bad idea - you cannot open the door during cooking - for successful baking!!!!!
- Advertised as 'Easy-Fit...although it replaced a 30" oven there is a 4" open gap at the top of the opening?? I now have to put spacers underneath...and then find something black to close the gap at the bottom.
- Steam Clean not very effective - doesn't warm up enough.
- A little slow to heat up.
- Door not closing fully on the top right side...maybe it will 'wear-in'??

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pauls927 Good oven for the price
My 15 year old GE oven started giving problems with the keypad/cables (F7) so I decided it was time to replace it with a newer model. Installation was straightforward except the existing gas valve behind the oven interfered with the back of the oven. The valve had to be removed to get the oven to fit flush.
This oven takes much longer to reach operating temperatures because of the hidden element. To get to 450 deg, mine took over 20 minutes. I understand this is normal, but it takes a lot longer than my old one.
The lack of a light switch is dissapointing. You must open the door to turn it on.

So lets get to the point. The display isn't very advanced, timer doesn't show seconds. NO LIGHT BUTTON?! constantly is making clicking sounds when baking. The sides are exposed so if you are able to look at it from that veiw doesn't have a good feel. I have only had it for 20 minutes and I already have regret. Not a happy consumer at all
