The Refrigerator so far has been great. It is quiet, the water tastes great, so much so I am getting rid of my water delivery service next month. It is a shorter fridge, different from what I have become accustom to, so I would advise to measure the height for sure to compare it to what you have now. I needed to get a smaller Fridge to accommodate a smaller space after a remodel. The freezer is small, but really, how much food do you need to freeze? It is perfect for a small 2 person household. I love the clean steel look. No fingerprints!!

Our kitchen has limited space for the refrigerator width. This model replaced a 25 year old GE model of the same physical size and layout (different color). The older unit is still operating but needed some work, door seals and a good cleaning, so it is now used in a different location in the house. This new unit is very quiet and has a little more room inside versus the older one, it's 1 inch deeper and uses modern insulation, which allows thinner walls. If the new unit runs for 25 years like the older one, I'll be very pleased.

I was happy to find this fridge online since I needed a slightly smaller one that would fit in my kitchen. Ice maker works well. Nice stainless steel finish.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by sanda Odd-sized Overpriced Ill-Finished - but it works
Odd sized replacement that would fit and was available (other brands back-ordered). Identical with almost no innovation in 10+ years to the dying GE model it replaced!
Works, is quieter than the 10-year old replaced model, but has worse finish on the doors, hinges, shelves, overall alignments - you name it.
Disappointed at the absolute lack of innovation or improvement, the ridiculously high price (larger fridges are cheaper because there are more choices/competitors; only 3 available in this odd size, only this GE for immediate delivery!)
I wish I could redo the kitchen and get a cheaper, larger, different fridge instead!
The only saving graces - quiet, cold, stays on very little (the first utility bill should confirm energy savings) and has a working ice maker (the old GE fridge's ice maker broke 5+ years ago). If this sounds like a reach to say something nice, it is!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Phil A Few Gripes But No Major Problems Yet
I have only had the fridge for a few days, but I have a few thoughts so far.
My choices were limited due to a cabinet limiting the height to about 68 inches and I had to buy it sight unseen (other than the online photos, but that's not the same) because none of the stores I went to carried models that were short enough and were comparable to the unit I was replacing. I picked this model because of the height, brand, price, the presence of a snack drawer, and its in-door ice dispenser that did not take up an unreasonable amount of door space inside the freezer.
1. While the the volumetric capacity of the new fridge is a little less than the old one, it looks like the space is utilized a little better on this one and I had no problem fitting everything from my old freezer compartment into the new one.
2. Digital temperature monitoring and control. I'll keep my old thermometer as a backup though.
3. Fridge shelves were easy to move around.
4. It has the appearance of stainless but is able to hold magnets.
5. The icemaker bin is easily removed and replaced.
6. I like the little shelf over the icemaker.
1. The door handles are spaced a little too closely together. I have thick fingers and I will bump my knuckles if I stick my fingers between them to grab a handle.
2. In the freezer there is only one unoccupied slot for reconfiguring the shelves. In addition, no matter which space you leave open, one of the shelves will only have about six inches of vertical clearance.
3. The icemaker does not seem to work very fast. Considering the smallish ice bin, the icemaker should be able to fill an empty bin within 24 hours. It does not appear able to accomplish that, but that may change.
4. To close the doors you must firmly push on them until they seal. You can't absently give them a shove and hope that they close all the way.
Except for these minor gripes, I'm pretty happy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sherrysue Very pleased with our new GE side by side refrigerator.
We have had our GE Refrigerator for one month now, and we are very pleased with it. Our salesman was very helpful and the delivery men did a nice job.
I read all of the reviews and was a little worried about the ice landing on the floor because we have laminate floors. You do have to be careful and lift your glass up high under the spigot.
They did not have this refrigerator on the floor, so I was a little concerned about the color of the bisque. One review said the bisque color wasn't the same as it used to be.
We are pleased with the color and happy GE still makes this color. Thank you GE!
We do not like the popular stainless steel.

Had a Maytag for 8 yrs-thought we would try another brand. Disappointed with lack of 33" wide choices-most stores do not have them in store to compare. The refrigerator side is smaller that our old Maytag. You have to put the gallon of milk in the door to get the most shelf space. Water runs down the door after getting a glass of water and ice ( whole or crushed) shoots out with such force that most of it ends up on the floor. Next time we will be buying a bigger (average size) refrigerator if I have to knock-down some cabinets because I'm tired of paying more for a smaller refrigerator.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by texgal50 So far so good with our refrigerator
We have had our refrigerator for just about a month. We are very happy with the look of it in black, had to really hunt for a textured door one, finally found this GE. Not sure why people seem to really like the smooth fronts, they scratch so easily & show prints. This GE is quite nice looking, doesn't look cheap like some other brands we've seen. Our new GE is about 22 cu ft, so a little small but we were dictated by the size of our opening. People always complain about the ice spitting out everywhere, but you need to hold the glass up to the opening, no problem then. It is pretty quiet running, very pleased. Hopefully this new one will last a good while.
