After reading the manual, I have tried to remove the glass cover to clean the shelf, but the instruction does not work: 1. Push up the glass cover at the rear. The glass is completely covered by the plastic and there is no space to move up, down, side, etc.

Hello Mechanic - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you.
To remove the glass cover from the refrigerator, be sure the crisper drawer is removed or at least open so that way you are able to push the cover up from the underside at the rear. Then slide the glass cover backwards until the front edge comes out of the frame. Next, rotate the side of the glass cover up and then remove the glass Read More

I wanted GTH21GCEWW without ice maker. ( You did not answer this question sent previously). GTH21GBEWW which you referred me to has much lower reviews, but looks the same. If I can't get the GTH21GCEWW without ice maker is it easily removed or made non operational?

Hello,
This is Joyce from GE. You are correct these two models are the same except one has a factory installed ice maker and one does not. The ice maker can be removed easily.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Next Time We'll Go to the Store We've found ourselves wishing that we'd visited the store before making a purchase--a product description on a web site doesn't tell you everything you'd like to know. Had we done so, this would NOT have been the fridge we bought. Features we would have liked to have had are: 1) a larger ice maker (this one is small, and slow to make ice) 2) a light in the freezer (it's hard to find things in the back) 3) a middle support for shelves--the top two shelves sag when you put more than 3 heavy items on them. 4) greater adjustability of the " adjustable" shelves (the shelves on the door cannot be raised or lowered, and the main shelves have to be raised/lowered as a unit. Our old fridge allowed you to adjust in halves). October 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GOOD CHOICE FOR A BASIC UNIT Bought this to replace a 22 year-old similar model that finally quit working. Explored the fancy new bottom freezer/french door models and the bottom freezer models as well as standard top freezer from all brands and kept coming back to this one based on how I would be using it and my needs. I am pleased so far with this purchase, however I prefer my old model's split glass shelves to this model's full shelf design. The energy efficiency changes made the bins a little smaller but the door can hold so much more!!! Very happy I went with this and not one with bells and whistles. June 22, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It is fine for a basic fridge I bought this fridge a couple of months ago. Overall the fridge is fine and working good. The fan runs loud, and I can always hear it going. There is no light in the freezer area which is annoying. The tray that holds the ice is designed oddly where it is hard to reach your hand in and get the ice. They also made it very shallow where it doesn't take up the whole shelf on that side. I don't know why as it's not like there is really room to store things in front of it in that 1-1/2" of space. I tried to use my old ice bucket but this one has a notch in it so it won't fit in the space. The design flaws are minimal, but the loud fan noise is most annoying characteristic. They sure don't make a fridge like they used to, and this thing still cost $1000. December 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This replaced a 22 year old noisy refrigerator. This refrigerator runs so much more quietly than our previous, even when the factory installed icemaker is filling with water. It has a little more interior space than our previous. It has kept foods quite chilled at factory settings, and I've even noticed my milk is colder. the only down side to this unit is that the freezer does not have an interior light, but the kitchen is well lit, and we're getting used to it. I like that the condensate tray underneath is almost all side to side and is easily removable if need be. Special note to those hooking up a 'flexsteel' water line: The connection is behind the removable panel and you'll have to bend line around, down, then out the side of the panel. It took me a bit to figure this out to get it to work right. January 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase After shopping for a fridge for 3 months I finally decided on this one! It has everything I needed and wanted. Its quiet. Its roomy and the compartments are nice. June 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Spacious I love how spacious this fridge is for being one of the smaller ones. My favorite feature is the wide door shelves that are perfect for holding water and milk jugs. I don't even have to bend down to pick them up which is really nice because I'm nine months pregnant. The only downside is the fridge is a little noisy. October 31, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Refrigerator Except for Freezer Fan Over all, an excellent purchase. The only problem is the recirculator fan in the freezer compartment. The bearings gave out after a few months and began making very loud buzzing/rattling noises. Replacement fans are on backorder at every parts supplier I was able to find (including GE's), leading me to believe that this is a product wide problem and not just an isolated incident. More of a nuisance than anything else. September 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice 'fridge! for only being 21 Cubic Feet, it feels MUCH larger. The in-door storage is great and you can easily fit a gallon of milk, OJ, etc. so far so good. August 28, 2015
